    tools

I had an 87 Cutlass Supreme before the 442. It didn't have the spare in the trunk. I had a medium sized plastic tool box that wedged down in the tire well perfectly. I loaded it up with all the metric size sockets and wrenches along with screw drivers etc. It worked well and added a little...

    Strattec Quality Is Slipping Too

I think the "Mark of Excellence" fading away is a reflection a production standards as a whole. I think the average "Joe" has become used to lower quality and poorer service. Maybe it's simply a question of economic stress. Maybe they're trying to push back the cost of stamp or machinery...

Hey, Electrical Gurus! Need Some Wire Loom Advice.

Here's a spec I found on Waytek Wire: Nylon Loom - Temp rating: -40°F (-40°C) to 257°F (125°C) (Up to 300 for short periods of time) Polyethylene - Temp rating: -40°F (-40°C) to 200°F (93°C) I had this site in my favorites from gathering supplies for my harness rebuild. Here's their loom (it...

I keep hard copies of info I find important. We're one giant solar flare away from a world wide reboot to factory settings.

Roll Call: Who on site does custom work on the side - 3d printing, engraving, machining, vinyl graphics, etc

He's being modest. I've got a bunch of his decals and a custom window sticker. His work is top notch! Hutch

Roll Call: Who on site does custom work on the side - 3d printing, engraving, machining, vinyl graphics, etc

Haha. I've got a set of 68's for the doors. I'll have to wait until the 442 is back together and make a call on the trunk emblem size. Hutch

Yes. Cut off the studs and 3M. I got a set of 1972 "442" Grill Emblems for the front grill and rear deck. They're nice and flat. The grill emblems work perfect for the deck, but are too big for the 87 grill. Hutch

Loving this! I'm using 70's "442" emblems on my project when the time comes (instead of decals). I was looking to have some "HHP" emblems that matched them made, and then plastic chromed. This is making me think. Love those Door Jamb Vents! They need an Olds Rocket. Hutch

    aluminum rad. flush

I copied this from a previous post I made on the same subject. Here's how I've always flushed mine: Drain existing coolant and leave petcock open. Take off the upper hose at the radiator and angle it off to the side so it can flow (don't drench anything electronic). Stick an open garden hose...

Have Three (Or More) Keys To Your G-body? I Got A Fix For That.

Got my keys and locks back a few days ago  69hurstolds cut a fresh set of GM keys, and wouldn't you know, the passenger door wouldn't turn and the trunk lock was sticky (as in wouldn't spring back when turned) On his suggestion I sent out the locks for examination. Good thing because...

    pvc valve

Usually (on Olds engines) the PCV is on the passenger side and the Crankcase Breather is on the drivers side. If you're not using the CC breather that goes to the air cleaner, it won't matter. All factory style valve covers are the same (same center hole) for both sides, unless you're going...

Does anyone have Measurements for the M 80 Stripe Decal?

I've used these guys with a few projects. They did my modified air cleaner decal. https://lettering.com/vinyl-lettering/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhquGmuaFhQMVyg2tBh11rQYWEAAYASAAEgIOgvD_BwE

Another Prototype Gasket in the Coming Soon Edition- Can't Believe They Haven't Repro'd This One

I recently took all my locks out. My trunk lock retainer had no gasket at all. I wonder if it was a "who cares" on the assembly line. Hutch
