the plug is the same but the wiring may not be in the same position in the plug also there may be extra wires or wires missing if you had pinout/ wiring diagrams from the gp you could make a harness work dave
that is the coolant temp sensor you can use the newer style sensor just order a cts for a 91 chevy 1500 truck with a 5.7 engine also order the pigtail for the sensor & splice it in much better connector & better availability of the newer sensor
like to see a pic of the cluster i have never seen a 4.3/ 5.7 diesel in one of these cars have a tach in them i swapped out hundreds of the diesels in pickups montes cutlass caddys& a regal i wish i had a few of the montes now most were loaded with every option dave

hi 86 gp 3.8 has a tps it is in the carb the wiring comes out of the driver side front of the carb if you can find a scan tool check for codes the idle circuit is probably gummed up or you have a vacuum leak the egr stuck will also cause this
hi if it runs ok on the road the fuel pump is ok are the idle mixture adjustment screws still sealed ? if not i have had some luck pulling the adj screws out & spray carb cleaner in the holes then hit them with compressed air that has worked a few times for me
mine had locktite on the threads i heated the button & it came off easy but i was putting nos balls& buttons if you shield the ball you might be able to save them dave
the reason they say up to 86 is due to fed emissions regulations that apply to 86 & newer vehicles the pan and flywheel is easily found it will drop in dave

that is not a factory ground wire it could have been from a alarm or radio it should have nothing to do with your chime mod you need to see all circuts from the fuse that was blown most fuses power more than one thing dave
ok you need a delay wiper motor from a 79-83 g body i think b body is the same then you need to run a wire from your wiper switch to the wiper motor there will be a extra prong for a wire on it too then your delay will work dave
