    Car Craft questions... ??

Sorry if I missed the info, but honestly even after registration I don't have it and can't find it on the site. When do the gates open Sat morning for the participants? My buddy is coming into town with a pickup and trailer with his car in it. Can he pull into the fairgrounds and park...

About the '86 T-Top GP for sale here in MN

In case you guys were curious.. I went to look at the car last night. If you call this guy he'll hand the phone off to his GF cuz he's mostly deaf. The bad: Keep in mind I didn't get a great look at it due to being shoe-horned into a tiny garage with two flat tires and no light. The interior...

2 vehicles returning to rightful owners

I had to sell my pickup a couple years ago due to being in a big pinch. Fortunately a friend of a friend bought it, and was nice enough to give me dibs if he ever decided to sell it. He called me last week, said he is starting a business and has to let it go. I bought it on Ebay and flew to Ohio...

I've got a troublesome decision to make

I sold my LS6 pickup "under duress" a couple years ago to a friend of a friend, and told him to give me a shot at it if he ever wants to sell it. Well, he's starting a business now and needs some $$. I've been kicking myself ever since I sold the truck and I'd really like to get it back, even...

    LSx Swap Parts Database

I figured it would be nice to have a thread where a guy can find all the part #s and what works. Feel free to pitch in if you guys have some stuff to add. Coolant Temp Sender (98 Camaro 3-wire) 12551708 or TX111 (I don't have the part # for the pigtail, but they're quite common in '99-up cars+...

You know what keeps me going??

I drive a semi on a local delivery route here in the Minneapolis metro, so I get to see a lot of cars every day obviously. Today (aside from seeing 2 80's Grand Prixs and several Montes) I was in a neighborhood in Mounds View when I saw what appeared to be a mint original 79-ish Olds Cutlass...

The best $2.50 you ever spent

This is a 6203-2rs bearing. The "2rs" stands for 2 rubber seals. Not to be confused with the snowmobile suspension bearing (6205-2rs), this bearing is found on most makes and models of cars that have a serpentine belt, and even some that don't. The idler and tensioner pulleys generally use this...

Need a wiring diagram 78 GP

I have a 78 GP SJ vin W 301 4BBL and much of the harness on the A/C side including the A/C and emissions stuff was disconnected or otherwise hacked. It would be a real time saver if I knew what the wires were rather than attempt to trace them all. I tried the AUTOZONE diagrams but they are...

    Ball joint HELL!

As with the Energy bushings, the Raybestos ball joints I got are .020 larger than the opening they are supposed to go into. I froze the ball joint in my chest freezer and took a die grinder to the control arm. Now the dam thing is 2/3 of the way in, no longer frozen, and heating the assembly...

    Electric fuel pumps? (carb'd)

Looking into some electric fuel pumps to feed my 670 Holley carb. (5.3 engine with around 400hp) Wondering what you guys have used or recommend, and where to attach it to? I just removed a device of some sort, looks like an air shock suspension leveling thing (actually, I need to ask about what...

You guys seen this video? Father/son drag racing GP's

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsF6jQdl ... r_embedded Sorry if everyone's seen this. I just thought it was pretty badass. I've never been into drag racing, but this vid makes me want to (if I had some $$)

Put my rear axle together.. Doesn't look right!

I can't tell where the seal is supposed to ride cuz I wire-wheeled the axles and made them all shiny. It sure looks like they're sticking out too far: Or am I wrong? Maybe I'll put my brakes together and see if they line up. ('78 7.5" non posi 2-series converted to a 3.42 posi with a S-10 gearset)

Anyone ever shaved the big chrome bumpers '78-80 GP?

Thinking about either shaving or fabricating some to resemble the mid-80's plastic bumper cover style. Wondered if anyone has any photos or ever done this. I figure if I can get the fiberglass to match up to the bumper covers it could look almost stock

    Winter Beaters! Let's see em

For you Southern guys: A Winter Beater (wyn-tur bee-tur) is a car us Yankees use to save our nicer vehicles from the ravages of salt and sliding into the ditch, etc. Here's my $500 LeSabre. Needs some gremlins figured out some day, but drives just fine and gets good mileage Of course my wife...

    Anyone here from North Detroit?

I ran across this non-vinyl top Grand Prix and it happens to be the color interior that I'm looking for. I need the sail panels if they're any good. If you're near this yard, please check it out! PM me and I'll give you my number http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/2663084177.html I'll...

I got a line on a fully restored Regal

I ran into a guy that is in a pickle and he needs to get rid of his 1980 Regal. Here's the story on the car: Built in 2004-05. Car was from Arizona Body off amateur resto. Frame, susp, everything painted 403 Olds built by a machine shop (motor is from a '77 Trans Am) Th350 w/shift kit Camaro...

'78 Grand Prix LSx swap + build thread + roof carnage

Finally starting to tear into the GP. Got a few other things going on, but I should be able to make some progress pretty quickly. The car is a 1978 with viscount leather buckets, console shift, factory AM/FM/CB radio, and cornering lamps. So there's a few kinda rare options. The main reason I...
