When I get them rolled up they are tight. Seem to wobble a decent amount in the tracks, but I think that is normal. What type of silicone protectant do you mean? Like armorall? I am wondering if it has something to do with the spring that coils up as it speeds down very fast. they kind of...
Haven't been on here in awhile, but just finishing up my 78' Monte Carlo. The power window on the passenger side rolls down very fast and goes up a lot slower, to the point where it won't go up the last 1 inch or so. If you open the door it goes up all the way. So that has me thinking the new...
Thanks for the information everyone! Since I am in Mnpls/St,Paul area just got back from Street machine nationals. Wasn;t going to go but I thought I would look for some Monte's to look at the rear window trim. Out of 4-5 of them only one seemed to have the trim installed correctly. Still...
So I have been vacant for years on here, but I am trying to finish my other G body now. 1978 Monye and i removed the rear window trimyears ago. Don't know how the lower chrome strip fastens. Is there clips? where do they install? I did convert this car from half vinyl top to no Vinyl top, I...
Why not try Gas Monkey Garage? They built this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oldsmobile-Cutlass-2-Dr-Hardtop-/221886063426?_ul=AR&nma=true&si=icpUKVZlhtaBcnxZyu8%252F6NJoF9w%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Not my personal style but I like it for what it is, just hang on to your...
You may know what spring rate you started with but once you cut it the rate won't be the same, so unless you have a spring tester how do you know where your at?
To be honest I haven't really driven the car much yet. But I have more confidence in the engineers at a aftermarket place than buying a Moog spring and cutting it down. I have been that route before too and it was a little stiff on the cut springs, but I don't remember what # they were. I am...
On the Cutlass I have I went with BMR 2" springs all the way around. Bought them off of Ebay (but I think it was through Jegs) for $180 shipped to my door for all 4. Not that much more than the Moog replacement springs and I didn't have to screw with cutting them.
Bought some fender trim pieces from Kevin. I bought from him before. As always they arrived in a timely fashion (he is shipping from Canada) in great condition. Thanks Kevin!
What the master switch is not showing you in that diagram is there is a 6th wire that grounds the switch to the door. That's the wire that grounds everything.
Found the problem. Switched motors right side to left.........same issue. No continuity between master switch and passenger side switch on both Tan and blue/white striped wire. Ran a jumper wire for both wires and it worked. Everything is grounded through the master switch on drivers...
Double checked housing to door metal. there is continuity..........Wondering if the electrical up inside the motr is grounded to the housing. Could that even be possible?
Motor works when I take 1 wire that plugs into the motor and ground it to the door. If I switch and re-connect it to the motor and run the other wire to groud the motor goes the other direction. The master switch is new and the Ground wire is connected to the driver's door. Frustrating:wtf:
So I am going through the bugs on this 1986 442 I bought a couple months ago. The power window on the driver's side works, but the passenger side does not. Not from the master switch or the passenger side switch. The motor is new and it works. I have 12V power to the switch and the motor. I...
Funny. Because I can't stay off Craigslsit I picked up a 86' 442 about a month ago. I saw that same article on the 307 build. He built a girdle for the block and raised the intake and exhaust ports a mile. I then found this article.http://tlentz.oldsgmail.com/more_power.html Although I...
