Tim, you're gonna be tired of my questions by the end of the week (if you're not already) but it'll all be worth it soon, I promise!

I've been looking online but have to ask, what's the difference between this intake and a 300-36, the desirable Z-28 Winters copy? Would you say this is more like the 300-38, which was basically an L-79 factory intake? I see this was cast in '04: did they change the runners, or is the height different? I might be interested in seeing how this stacks up against a Weiand Stealth or L-82 factory aluminum intake for power and "period correct" appearance.

The Holley Street Dominators get confusing to me since they could be single or dual plane, low/mid or mid/high rise, they changed the runners once or twice, and there's even a Zora Duntov version. All utilizing the same name.

Jon,
Honestly , I am not familiar with any of that. I ran across it at the yard and blasted it. Pretty cheap price though.

If you guys don't mind me interrupting, maybe I can shed some light. Holley used the Street Dominator and Contender names with impunity. I have the Z-28 version and the single plane version of the Street Dominator. The one above is probably very similar in performance to GM's L-82 intake, just in a square bore variety while retaining EGR. I have an L-82 intake on the 305 in my Cutlass. It's nothing too special. You probably wouldn't notice much difference between it and a Performer or Stealth. It is fancy aluminum though.

timo22 this is a great price. I'd snatch it up myself if I had any reason to use it. Sadly, I've probably already built my last SBC. GLWS!

Yep , it is a great price. I’m in the same boat though. I’ve been inactive on the site due job and health. Retired now and still have quite a bit of gbody parts. Slowly , I will be posting stuff as I go through it.
BTW. Thanks to Driven for the explanation .
