So I bought this frame and it is boxed and notched- really nice frame. But when I turned it to work on it I noticed they hacked up these spring pocket areas. I am thinking I may need to use coilovers- maybe that is why they did this? Or, I could possibly weld some metal in to replace what was cut away. Any thoughts? I am not sure there is enough metal tabs left to be safe.

They are just fingers to locate the coil springs. I doubt a very accurate job is required but it's not an easy area to work in.

If you chose to go with coil overs. You will need a shock mounted coil spring. Many G body kits use the frame to support the top of the coil spring. They are sometimes referred to as a hybrid spring or conical spring. I chose shock mounted. I think they are 2.5"
