Steering Column

Does anyone know an easy way to replace or repair the rod that goes from the lock cylinder to the ignition switch on a tilt steering column? I replaced the original column due to this problem and now this is the second column has the same problem. I was lucky the first time to find an identical column but this time I'd rather fix the problem with new parts. I have head that it's not an easy fix though so if anyone here has fixed a column I'd appreciate any info you can offer....

It's a Pain in the.....foot.

Try calling a locksmith, they do that type of thing...
