Changing to a fron sidet steering box may lead to issues with header/exhaust fit interference. Also, bump steer may be affected. This can be an accident causer if driven on the street at even moderate speed.
What you say is true and I have to give that some consideration. However, my immediate reaction is that increased density of inlet charge should create some kind of pressure differential over or under atmospheric (14.7 psi) especially if you add fuel to the intake charge.
Would appreciate any...
I had a 79 Malibu with a replaced winshield (ie.) no in-glass antenna. If you have an aftermarket sound deck, there should be an antenna out plug with a short cable (about three to four inches) behind the unit inside the dash. You can order a plastic covered "shorty antenna online and stick...
A couplel of thoughts:
Did you start clipping the headliner in from the very back? This will sometime put the liner in a bind at the front and cause issues with the clips. I have only done one headliner on a G-Body (a long long time ago, in a galaxy far away) and I remember having to start...
The fact that air acts as a fluid under many circumstances can be very confusing to those who don't takek the changed dynamics into account.
I am going to delve a little deeper into VE a little further down the road. Any comments to those (or any) posts would be welcome.
I agree with what you said. VE tends to go up with an increase in rpm and is capped out by the limitations of the air flow components.
Thanks for the comment.
The voltage regulator in the alternator could be faulty. It could be charging most of the time and intermittently not charging. They can even over charge which is not a good thing. If the alternature has less than (or more than) correct output while running try tapping it lightly with a...
I'm not much with electrical but my 79 Malibu had a similar problem and I found out that the clock circuit in the dash was bad. Those "ribbon" connections are really fragile. Could disconnecting the cigarette lighter have sent more current to the short and increased the amp draw??
Three months ago, I bought one from Walmart for my trailer winch battery for about $18 usd and it has worked perfectly. My tractor battery gave up the ghost last month so when I buy a new one I will buy another maintainer (trickle charger) for that battery too.
Thanks very much for the reply. I don't have any advanced math but what I am getting from your reply makes sense and matches with my cruder understanding of what I believe is happening to cylinder filling.
It's 4:30 am and I can;t sleep thinking about this. What I have come up with so far is...
I learned to write some VB6 code in my early 50s (about 20 years ago) and when I got to be an advanced beginner, I started a progam called "Basic Performance Calculations".
I got pretty far into it and then life (mostly wife, kids and work) got complicated and I put the project on the shelf...
