Printed Circuit Board Modification

Hi, I have a sweep speedometer cluster in my 84 Cutlass. What I want to do is iliminate the circuit board area where the idiot lights would go. I'm sure I'll have to tie the negitive from the fuel gauge to the ilumination bulb which is close by. I am using this area to fit two 2" gauges. Anybody have any ideas?

So I should just trace the circuits and eliminate the idiot lites?
