I just got a text that a guy I've known for 25 years died from the covids. Super cool dude with an 871rwhp CTS-V- I just saw him at the cars and coffee about 2 months ago.
I've been quarantined since Thanksgiving, but my wife seems to think she doesn't have to. She's the one that was in contact with someone positive. Not sick, but I'll call irresponsible.
This sh*t needs to get done with. I'm usually pretty laid back, but, man, it's f-ing with my zen.

I know people that have lost folks but thank God no one close to me. My strategy is to avoid everyone. And wear a mask at all times I have to interact. As a bonus I have not had a cold in a year and since I hate colds I will wear a mask maybe forever.

Sorry for your loss. I know three people now that have had, two were asymptomatic, one had a minor fever and stuffy nose for a day. Thats it.... weird how it can affect people so differently.

I know this is a sad thread an I mean no disrespect. But I just had to share this pic. If we all wore these I bet no one would get close enough to infect anyone.

Covid is deadly to people with Diabetes and a few other really minor things like Type A blood. The media is completely dishonest about masks to the point where sick people think its fine to go to work or go shopping sick if they are wearing a mask.

Singapore wouldn't have been pulling people out of their houses 24/7 and placing them in mandatory 14 day quarantine camps if "masks worked".

I canceled a vacation in October because my idiot sister's (who has 3 degrees and is was an assistant principal at a high school) kid got Covid but its fine because he's wearing a mask. 12 hours later everyone in the house tested positive for it. duh.

Hopefully the miracle vaccines work and we all can stop having this kind of sh*t happen to people we know (and hopefully us.)

I think about the politics (mushroom treatment) of this disease and I get pissed off. I think of how it’s affecting me and the things I want me and my family to do and I get pissed off. Then I read something like what you’ve posted here and I realize how self centered and ignorant those feelings are.

Sincerely sorry for your loss. And thanks for the reminder for me not to be an ignorant and inconsiderate jackass.

Sorry for your loss. COVID is definitely very selective and unfortunately you won’t know how it affects you until you get it. Pre-existing conditions definitely do not help (obesity, diabetes, cancer etc). Both my parents are in their 80’s and have been very careless about taking precautions. As a result they both tested positive. My dad is the type of guy that mocks people for wearing masks and he absolutely despises our governor (Michigan) due to the restrictions. He was fatigued for three days and had a sore throat but my mom was asymptomatic. Both of them are over it now but COVID is a subject I need to avoid with them. They are both stubborn old birds and didn’t quarantine.

Its a b*tch alright. The wife had it first part of november. Got pneumonia in both lungs and was basically down hard for an entire week. Didn't go to the hospital but probably should have a couple of times. My sister just tested positive for antibodies, but she's volunteering for the vaccine trials, so either she got the real vaccine and not the placebo or actually has/had the virus, who knows. Niece just got it again(!) for like the 3rd time...

...and with the new info about it being a thing as early as last December, we're pretty sure my daughter had it right after we got back from Japan, we were around enough Chinese tourists then anyway... and has had it like 3 times already. If I've had it I didn't know it, but its probable. Luckily I don't get out all that much but when I do, its mask on, bc any precaution is better than none. Is it foolproof? no, nothing is, short of eradicating it smallpox/polio style. I'll be lined up to get vaccinated whenever the gen. pop. gets that option.

So sorry for your loss :( This crap has to stop, not only for the loss of loved ones in our lives, but for crap to get back to normal!! Problem, is 1/2 of people think its nothing, while the other half is dealing with people in the ER or have had a loss in their lives from it, or have died themselves! ITS REAL and we need to start wearing PPE when we go out, if not for yourself, out of respect for those who are more vulnerable with underlying health issues already. Why is that even a question weather or not to wear PPE when you go out. :( Gods speed to everyone's safety and health!!!!
