ok.. gotta clear up some misconceptions... a/g body stick shifts were in 78 malibus, as i've got one! they were also in elky's, monte's, and cutlass', however the cutlass got the 5 speed. i'm unsure what they use for a bellhousing. malibu's, wagons, elkys, had the stick shift until 81...

yup, direct bolt in. run a new vacuum line down there. while you've got the engine/transmission out of the car, you'd be time and safety ahead of the game by running a new fuel line down the passenger side of the frame rail in the factory locations, and removing the fuel line from the drivers side...

the 4.3 mounts will work, I believe you've gotta move them one spot forward, but to be honest, at 8 bucks apeace, i'd go new

they're chrome coated plastic. the only problem with used ones is that the chrome coating sometimes is pitted and peeling. I had one, off my old 86 cl, but sold it a while ago.

aggravation of doing the swap?? geez..... I didn't think it was that hard!... and we slammed it together in two weekends.... I picked up an 87 olds from ebay a while ago as I was looking for a shell for my 86 monte drivetrain that I had... we put in the engine, and transmission as 1 unit...

well............since i've had at least 2 of every version G body out there, and it all started with my 78 bu.. the bu's my first love... then monte ss, grand national, elky, 442/hurst olds, plain regal, plain monte, plain olds, gp.. however I love gp's interiors...
