The motor was a complete rebuild from the heads to the bottom end. They even sent pictures of the progress but did a terrible job putting it back together. After talking to the owner he agreed to take a look at it and like you said the valves may need adjusting. Hopefully this will fix it once...

Smoke is like a gray blue ish color. Heads are 882. No oil leaks.. Smoke is coming out the pass. side tail pipe. Castrol 10w 30. Is it a way to test the transmission accumulator? I will do a compression test soon.

Today I decided to swap out my rear lower control arms with another set of factory arms with new bushing and had no idea one of the arms on my Elco was bent.
Last night/today I sold my 2 inch fiberglass cowl hood to the white Elco and drove home hoodless. I'm picking up my 2 inch steel cowl hood today. (I own the brown Elco)
