From as a young lad of 5 I watched my father repair his vehicles all my life and by the time I was 18 I had my first car a 1976 Oldsmobile Omega lift-back with a 260 V8 for $300. My father when I was 15 had a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 he was fixing up but after a long time he never finished it and eventually sold it for little more than he paid. I could tell that he was disappointed selling the car and that he did not get to fulfill one of his desires. From that I vowed when I had the interest to build my special Cutlass I would not fail no matter how long it would take. It started summer 2002 when I bought the 1985 Cutlass Salon for $8000. It is a real nice driver and has very solid bones for my future plans of making it my own custom street machine. The I got married, and then I had a daughter, and then my career took off, and then I bought house, and then I traveled, and every few years I would make a few upgrades when I could and also would drive it only in summer.
