Thanks for all of the input. After looking at the car a second time I found a small crack on the roof edge. I picked at it bit and found a lot of Body filler in the roof edge and down the b pillars. For the price I don't think the car is worth it, at least not something I want to get into...

I posted this in the Monte Carlo forum but didn't get any responses. I'm looking at an 85 SS this evening. The car is very solid excpet for the A pillars. The passenger side is rotted out pretty bad. Is this a common problem? Is there anything else that I should look for?
