The difference in the 2004r's in the Turbo Regals is a modified valve body, servo, governer and a bigger 2nd gear band. If its in good working order you will be fine. As for your dad thinking they wont handle any power. They are in the GN's and running in the 9's when built right.

Im using their tubular uppers and lowers on my T Type and used them on my old GN. Good stuff.

I have a trans, intercooler, piping, downpipe, test pipe, ecm.

I believe it was an option on all but the 87 where it came standard.

Welcome. Are the replacement regulators adjustable or the stock 237 regs? And any dry rotted vac lines will leak under stock boost. So change all the lines since they are cheap and easy. Some guys, including myself, tie wrap them so they dont blow off.

Re: WIW 2004r trans and info CZ arent bad tostart with. They can be built with a GN rebuild kit an have a great trans. I have never heard of Turbo Regal guy swapping his BRF gov for one out of a SS, the other way around yes.

2004r's are good trans but there are some differences. Mine is one of the ones for sale and its out of a Turbo Buick. So it has a larger 2nd gear band, a different governer and servo plus a valve body just for the TB's. Stock ones handle around 400hp and the ones needing rebuilds go for 300-400...

The WH1 Designer packages were only made in 84, 85 and 86. There were 3,732 T Types made in 83 and none should have came two tone.

Find someone close to you with turbo buick experience and have them look at it. Check the trunk codes. WE2 is a GN, WO4, WE4 and WH1 are some of the T Type codes.

That is the stock ride height with just a little stiffer springs. So in reality it may be a tad higher than stock, but i like it just like it is. The stance is perfect for me. Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I have an complete engine and trans out of my 86 T Type. Was an excellent running motor when removed. The only reason its out is to make way for my built motor and trans from my GN that got wrecked last year. I do not have the wiring harness though. I do have the plneum and manifolds.
