Man, the chassis assembly is a LOT better off than I assumed it would be. This car was built in Flint, and spent it's whole life up until about 8 months ago in Michigan. Not like northern Indiana is very different, but still. Hardly any rust on this guy, save for a couple spots in the floorpan...

I hate to sound like I'm very incompetent, but I really do appreciate everyone's patience with me on this one. I seem to be needing some more guidance about disassembling the old engine compartment setup. Is there a specific order about how I have to remove everything, and if so, what is it...

Will do. I think I'm going to attempt to retain it. Hell, why not have A/C? There's a planned move to South Carolina if I get accepted into this program at Clemson, so I might need it! Anyone know of a place or company that rents the cherry pickers? A friend of mine has one, but I'd have to...

Yup, it's in no condition to drive; hell, half the body is in my basement right now. Is there somewhere you can rent this deal from?

So, how do I evacuate the A/C system? That little service port definitely had pressure, so what do I do with it? No need for it, weekend driver on the border with the great white north.

Good advice, definitely. I don't pick it up 'till Thursday, but it'll come soon. Thanks again, everyone. Keep checking this thread; I'm sure I'll have loads more questions!

Kind of hit a brick wall of frustration while working in the garage today. Anyone suggest some good inspirational auto flicks?

I was thinking I could use it to practice putting an engine together!! Alrighty then, so strip it down, then haul it over to the machine shop. So, would sonic testing be the first thing on the list?

That's alright. Union paycheck, buddy. Now, the real question is what to do with the engine already in the Regal...

Ah, now here's the tricky part. Would someone be able to easily explain the machining process and how different measurements affect what? Or at least point me to a solid resource about that kind of thing? I haven't done anything with a car since high school (YEARS ago). You see, I also...

Well, I'd like to keep it street legal. For the moment, anyhow. I've acquired a book on rebuilding Buick engines by SA, as well. Would that have a good start of information for rebuilding this guy? I'll also add, I've got minimal rent, Teamster employment, and no family; basically, I think if...

Got an offer from a guy at a junkyard I deliver uniforms to the other day for a Buick 455. Said he'd sell it to me for $50. Right now, I've got nothing but time, and I'd like to finally do something with the old Regal sitting out in the garage. I guess my question is this: How much would I be...

Alright. Appreciate it. So where would be a better starting point maybe for a V8 that isn't going to instantly incinerate my wallet? I guess what I'm asking is, what's solid?

Right on. Tell me, why isn't it worth it, though? I'm trying to find out why people do or don't like them.
