One follow up......Im a "Formal roofline" guy. Eldo's n such......speaking isnt it sad. Could you imagine a 93-2000 eldorado that was rwd with a northstar. Be bad *ss. But for the haters of the roofline. May I pin a 79 monte. Actully my 86 cutty had a pretty 90 ° rear window. Lol
Like I said just thought it would be a good comparison. Surprised there isnt more competition and friendly rivalry between the two. Never see the Tbird or my Cougar at the drags. Oh BTW Around Pittsburgh a 86/88 Monte SS in excellent condition with or without T tops are now clicking past...
Like I said not knocking. Ok ok after 6 months I still have reverse.......to the 200r4 guys thats the "R" makes the tires turn clockwise......ok ok lol yea over looked the full body on frame argument most of the fox body guys used braces after 400 hp. Eh for get about it. Just a mere observatory...
Well since my roof was rotted through on my 86 Cutty she went to be parted out. Since then Ive gotten a 83 cougar. Mint condition 70,000 miles for $1000 not $12000 a g body sells for.
Now not throwing stones looking for actual scientific data. Who did it better
Weight 83 cutlass 3435...
THANKS! Not to get too personal on here but the 86 Olds holds alot of meaning. Got a uncle with a debilitating illness. He owned a patched up 86 we all dubbed "The war machine" . Had an actual W30 455. Grew up in the backseat with Quiet Riot, Tesla, Cinderella. Held my first doob and felt my...
Taking it all in. Thanks for the input! Granted yes to do it proper would to replace entire roof. But by the time I gained all the tools and a new roof Id far exceed the value of the car. Stated in the beginning. The previous owner said the salvage yard flat bed would arrive at 4pm. So I drove...
No would be a total waste of $$$. Already got it 90% converted to slick top. May have to research a bit on filler. It is directly over the center support and the nonrusted area is not really flexible not sure if the factory glued or tacked the roof to that rail or not
Ok my welder is a harbor freight 110v fulxcore. Works but never pretty. main concern is burn through and war page. I'll cut then see where it is. Flipside bondo on a flexible roof panel probably going to constantly crack. Plus cheap price yes it's going to be driven possible flown hard lol
Excited winter is around the bend, AND I Own a real garage!! Ready to tackel my $800.00 86 olds. The laundu roof rotted out and left a nasty hole.
Today I dropped the headliner, tomarrow should have the interior stripped. My plan is to cut the rust out. Then cutting repair strips. Thought...
Looking into the monster in a box kit. $459.00 however super expensive tourqe converter. Anyone use them? Seem to be a leader

I'll look them up. I'm running 373s anything else should I look into before taking it in for rebuilding. Budget is around 1500 bucks like to pick a few brains. Torque converter options...ect. I am planning a 350 olds swap so I will also be going computerless. Talked to the builder not a...
Been a few months . I mothballed my 86 olds due to moving. Starting tomarrow i am removing the interior to weld the roof and a few tiny patches. Transmission is still missing reverse. It's a plain Jane 307 with 5 a heads hooked up to a 200r4. On good days it's ok. No race car no dog either. But...
Oh ok Was worried the engine would hit the fire wall and still not have the clearance. My first domestic..... my Datsun had a foot of clearance everywhere lol this is a bit crammed.
