So it’s been awhile since my last update but not much changed until this summer. We hurt the motor at the March goodguys event so we had it rebuilt. It ended up being nothing major. We lowered the compression ratio with dished forged pistons and added a bigger mechanical flat tappet cam. The...

Check out this thread. I think with the setup I have now I can get 12* caster and a little over 2* camber with no shims
Because racecar. Doing this gains caster which aids in cornering which is a must for autocross. I’m also putting taller ball joints and full adjustable upper arms. This allows the tires to be flat on the pavement when loaded in a turn
Spent some time with a drill and carbide grinder to optimize the front end geometry. Moving the LCA mounting holes so they line up and move the ball joints forward to gain caster. That coupled with the spc adjustable uppers should put me about 10 degrees of caster and 1-2 degrees of camber
I’ve seen it done with rocker boxes where the vertical bars are shorter that way you can weld the top. Then you lift the cage in place and build a pedestal under the cage to the body. Look up the fabrication series on YouTube. This guy does it all and then some...
I found the mechanical drawings for the C5 brakes to the blazer spindles. An hour on the mill and 30 minutes with the grinder and they are done. Best of all it didn’t cost anything but my time
All new brake lines for the front of the car along with the adjustable proportioning valve. The lines aren’t the best looking but will do the trick. I also have new upper A-arms to put on with blazer spindles and C5 brakes. I just need to order some tall ball joints.
I’ve read this thread before. I decided to go with C5 brakes on blazer spindles for 2 reasons. One being to correct the geometry with lowering springs, taller ball joints and adjustable upper control arms. And two since I have 17” wheels and will go 18” in the future I want the biggest brakes...
I’m going to be changing over to blazer spindles and drop springs and want to use C5 brakes. I already have 17” wheels that I know will clear. What I really need is someone with the caliper adapters to trace the bracket and scan a full size copy to me. I’m trying to keep this on a budget and a...
I am currently on a 2” drop spindle but I need to correct the geometry as much as I can. Stiff springs are fine as I use the car for autocross only. Strange that UMI would tell their customers to cut a brand new springs instead of replacing them. I’ll have to reach out to them and see what the...
A roll each of 1/4 and 3/16 brake line to re-plum the brake system. Next is 2” drop springs, tall ball joints, adjustable uppers, blazer spindles, 13” rotors and possibly 4 piston calipers. But more likely corvette calipers for now. I also have a new adjustable prop valve to put on.
AZ is the most lax state. But you have to deal with hot summers and perfect winters. So when everyone else is just getting their cars out for the season ours go into hibernation
