My '79 is loaded with just about every factory option except the sunroof. Triple black, 4-speed, all power interior options, console, gauges, power antenna, buckets, etc. I cannot see restoring the car but would like to build it into a Hot Rod Power Tour car.

I just picked up a '97 T56 out of a Trans Am, today. Now it looks like I'll be going old school small block instead of LS so is there a way to disable the shift solenoids? Anyone have info on these wiring issues? I'll be running Dakota Digital dash so no need to worry about speedo, may go with...

Thanks for all the input on this thread. I'm just starting C5 front discs and '00 F-body rear discs with 18" wheels on my '79 Malibu. I'm very curious who has done this or something similar and what master cylinder, proportioning valves really work.
