You need not go to the bother of installing studs. The clips can be attached with self tapping screws after paint.

How do you know the axle was bent? Maybe just the wheel is bent?

Bought an '87 Monte Aerocoupe with less than 1000 miles on it and it wouldn't pass emissions here in Delaware so the 25 year rule don't hold here. Do what I did, take it down to less than a quarter tank, load it up with rubbing alcohol and you're done. It actually reduced my emissions by 90%.

Sounds kinda low and it will have the effect of pulling more air into the carb and disturb the fuel air ratio.

How much vacuum are you pulling? Could be it's over-cammed?

keep it stock. that's the way they were built, preserve them. you want to buy some rust bucket ( half the guys here) and modify it, ok. But keep the low mileage stuff the way it came from the factory. You'll get a lot more satisifaction out of the car
