I ran 245/50s at all 4 corners on my old '85 SS, on the same rims. They fit great. Probably could have done 255s, but I played it safe. They did rub on the inner fenders at full lock, but my car was lowered. Also, I dunno if a 275 is safe to put on an 8" rim; I think the tire manufacturers...

Mike, the car looks great! Congrats on having the car 20 years already; how does it feel to own a car that long? I've owned at least one Monte SS over the last nine years, but have only had this car for two.

You can use the mechanical linkage stuff easily. The holes for the frame support are already drilled in the frame, if you use a smallblock Chevy motor the ballstud hole is already in the block, and the hole where the clutch rod comes through the firewall is right where the cruise control harness...
