First off, this is not a gbody.
I'm getting a steady MAF reading of 1.489-1.497 lbs/min on my 1998 Jetta TDI. Doesn't matter what its doing, idling, cruising, heavy throttle up hill, MAF is basically unchanged. I'm pretty sure 1.5 lbs/min is wayyy low, and obviously it should change while driving. I'm leaning towards a broken wire, as these MAFs are supposedly rare to fail, but then again this car has over 500000kms.
So my question is, do you think 1.49 is a default value set by the ECU? Or is that what the MAF is trying to tell the ECU? - Worded differently, will a scan tool display actual MAF or a value the ECU defaults to?
