Ok after what seems like forever ago, I plan to replace my B pillar chrome trim this week. I have my old thread here and understand the process...just not sure of what to use as a sealing strip on the seal to make sure it's water tight again.

Original thread for reference. P.s. it's closed thus the repost:

I just used some closed cell weatherstripping that’s used for truck camper tops on mine.

I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around "sealing strip on the seal".

Are you talking about the foam seal that attaches to the back of the OEM B-pillar plate and weatherstripping channel? GM plates came with it installed and used it as a moisture seal so water wouldn't work itself behind the trim or channel.

Amazon has some. Look for around 1/16" thick closed cell. The peel and stick is likely the best since you don't have to mess around with glue. Fairly cheap and you can redo the entire car!

Thank you!
Yeah this is what I was referring too. I apologize if I wasn't clear.

It's closed cell camper top tape. Be sure to copy the factory pattern. You may also need butry rubber in the corners. My Regal has that.

Try the 1/16" thick junk, 3/32" at most. If you get the fat stuff you'll cry.
