BUILD THREAD 79 Monte round 2

Rear quarters epoxied inside and tacked back on. Doors back on to start fixing the gaps. E-type jag door for comparison on size 😂 IMG_5395.jpeg

Usually catches me off first couple times talking to Aussie friends, when they say "the North is HOT and SOUTH is Cold" then I remember they're south of the equator 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣
Love to come back and visit someday
I spent time in Brisbane when I was in the US Navy,

Love the pictures! Seeing what things look like underneath makes projects substantially easier to tackle!

Nice, I lived in Brissy for about 4 years when I moved back from Canada.

Been a minute between drinks but work on the Monte is still ticking along in the background. Hood has been glued back together and ready for some dents to be worked out. Both front fenders had lots of old school drill and pull holes in the same spot at the top of them. Can only assume the car was tied down to a truck or trailer with a strap over the bonnet at some point and went over a bump and creased the fenders. Nothing a pair of patches from the donor can’t fix (last pics show donor fenders, had a fair bit of rust on inner structure so only good for patches). Think getting the new roof skin back on is the last big job before epoxy!

Still ticking along with my build. Replaced all body mount bushes and hardware, was pretty happy all the bolts came out without too much hassle and in one piece! With the new bushes in all panels have been lined up and gapped to 5.5mm. Bit of extra metal added to the door edges to get them gapped right. Now it’s all squared up and happy with how it fits the roof skin can go back on. IMG_7014.jpeg
