no front & rear springs are different.

What makes the ride rough, is it too low and you hit the bump stops too often? Is the spring rate too high?

You could look at swapping to a ZQ8 s10 foam bump stop instead of the OEM rubber one. It makes hitting the bump stop a MUCH less firm experience. For $25 and 10 minutes I'd recommend that swap before changing springs.

Moog 5658 5660 5662 or 5664 are different combinations of S10 or 3rd gen F body springs with different AC or engine options and are slightly more firm than stock but still softer than an aftermarket spring.


I find the best combination is a 5660 to 5664 (depending on the weigh of your car), foam bump stops and tall lower ball joints to keep a long compressed spring height but still lower the car slightly.

Honestly a stock spring can have a worse ride than most people want because it's such a long spring with a low spring rate the car 'floats' really easily and potholes or whoops in the road cause the car to bottom out on the bump stops really easily, there isn't enough 'gain' to the spring as it compresses, it's kinda flat. A slightly shorter spring like a 5660 with a higher spring rate over factory can make the car hit the bump stops less frequent and it's a stock spring for a S10 of the same era so it's not a bone jarring stiff spring.
