I’ve tried a couple of different spots but one of the ends on the trans cable is slightly larger hole where the cable comes out of.

Standard issue 700r4 detent cable?

I'm not sure exactly what you're describing as being wrong or different with the one you found. What I read sounds like the cable fitment to the cable sleeve is looser and that's of no concern. In my experience Pioneer brand parts have worked fine, just get the length right and you should be good to go.

Unobtainium in re-pops 8-10 years ago. JY is your source.

If you really want to struggle finding one, then look for the longer one for a TPI or LT1 intake. The shorter ones for a TBI intake are more easily found - they came in trucks and Third Gens with TBI. I have two - one on a car and a spare, but I'm not selling.

TV Cable, not a detent cable.
My bad, thanks for the correction. I understand the functional difference between the two though, I promise!

Got the one I needed for my 700R4 from NAPA. Should think Autozone or O'Reilly's or Rock Auto or maybe even GM Parts Direct could supply you with one. They might ask for the overall length so remember to bring the old one along as an example. Newer counter staff tend to understand only what is showing to them on the computer screen, so if you can get to talk with an older partsperson you might have more luck.

I checked RockAuto and was bummed to not find one across all the applicable GM models that came with a 700-R4. All that remains on there are the Sonnax adapter parts.
