You rock man. As long as that color sample looks good from seatbelts plus...even if it's only Maroon...I may just go with them and replace all the front belts and the visible rear middle belt..so they all match in color. You never see the side seat belts in the rear. I like that they have the GM buckles where Seatbelt planet doesn't. I can try to reuse my plastic lower covers or I'll grab some new ones like you said.
This forum has helped me so much it's insane.

They'll fit but you'll also need a set of retractor door jamb lever hole covers as the aftermarket don't use them. All the coupes share the same shoulder belts. The front center is seat specific with the originals regardless of the number of doors. All rear seats are the same & are used in other models too. El Camino/Caballero shoulder belts are only for them. But then again, nothing fits a Cutlass Supreme to include Cutlass Supreme parts.
Not saying you are wrong, but remember that the early Malibu had the shoulder belt anchor above the windows, whereas the later cars anchored several inches lower on the b pillar. I have late belts in my 81 coupe, and they seem shorter than I remember my previous Malibus. Maybe someday I'll try measuring them, but a PO cut the originals

Something I love about the OE belts is the locking feature. I absolutely despise belts that are tight to me while driving. Love that you can put a little slack in the OE belts, and is why I would have originals redone over the "replacements" available.

For competition use, yep, snug belts are a must. For driving to work at 40MPH, a little wiggle room is a risk I'll take.

Back in the '90's when it seemed like everyone I knew & hang with had a G & done a few belt swaps for color changes or bad belts & never noticed lenth difference between belts out of high or low mounted coupe belts. My '79 Monte was one, its belts looked like it was in the middle of an alley cat fight & put a set from an '83 that was parted for the belts. Right now I wish I still had those belts since they were dark maple & I could use a set for my '81.

This post made me aware that I'm missing some covers. Thank you.

Alright fellas. So looks like I am gonna order from seatbelts plus. Couple reasons:

I don't mind losing my factory retractor and going with new ones. Car is a semi show car and barely driven as is and will just remove the door lever and install a nice chrome block off.

Their color, maroon #2008 is really close to Claret/Oxblood. Far closer than any other I have seen thus far. 69HURSTOLDS was dead on with thinking this was closer.

They have remanufactured genuine GM buckles which seems silly but I really want for my build.

I'll keep you all in the loop on quality and such. Will be doing my new carpet, seatbelts and painting the steering column all at the same time.

Thanks for all the help!

Compared to the seat vinyl. Obviously this vinyl is 40 years old..but decent base line.

Could you please post the door panel again? The pictures all show a good match I just want to see that one and it didn't seem to load.
