4L80 questions

There was no 4L80......just the 4L80E introduced in 91.
Thanks for clearing that up. I’d never heard of a non electronic 80. But what ‘I’ve heard’ doesn’t mean much lol.

Depending on who you listen to, the early 90’s are better cores (stronger) than newer ones. I’m defining older as cooler Line ports in the front next to each other and having a 17 element sprag. But there are mixed feelings on that.

The TH400 did at some point get the 3L80 moniker, that would be the only non-electronic 80.
