WANTED Burgundy Console

Trader history (0)

Does it have to be G Body? I've got a grey one from a 2000 or so Grand Am but can't take a pic at the moment. It has a scrape by the cupholder and I'd give it to ya for free- I need the space. If you cover shipping from Wichita KS 67213 and spray it with Duplicolor you'll have a burgundy console in no time. I haven't set it in place to see how it fits but I believe others have used them.

Here's a few other ideas if you're not stuck on stock: https://gbodyforum.com/threads/center-console-qs.18027/page-2
Johnny,
I had a Grand Am console in my car for awhile. It doesn't quite fit right on the tunnel. I had to cut into it and reshape it somewhat. It ended up in the trash after I found my Monte Carlo console.

I wondered about that, and it seems pretty small too. Unless it would work in an S10 I don't know what to do with it, so anyone interested can have it for shipping cost.

Thanks for shedding more light on the subject and reinforcing my plan to get rid of it. If nothing else it can be used to make a fiberglass unit- the framework, storage, and armrest are all good.

One thing I forgot to mention, I had to add a piece of sheet plastic to build up a section of the console. If you do lay it on the tunnel, you'll see that it's a bit too narrow. I'll see if I have pic somewhere to show you. I kind of agree with Mr Sony about the shape of it being kind of on the round, curvy side, compared to the squarish shape of the Monte, Cutlass, Regal, etc. consoles which are more like coffin shaped.
I do recall guys building their own consoles from scratch. Many of them come out quite nice, depending on their skills of course.

I also agree when it comes to this console, but I do like the Impala version, and it's all curves. You're right though, roundy interior on a square car would look a bit off.

Johnny,
I never discount using a console, or seats for that matter, from other cars, whether they're GM, Lexus, BMW, whatever.
I would always enjoy going on exploratory missions to the junkyard. Just the adventure of finding cool stuff. The thrill of the hunt, if you will. 😉
If I recall, the Impala console is a nice looking piece.
