Yes, a custom Qjet built by me and a Progression small cap electronic timing control distributor would have passed for stock and ran better for about $3500 less! I could have put the money into milled Procomp heads with a roller cam and had 100 more Horsepower and Torque! I am wondering if it is...
As said, no gain with the Performer. The RPM the only one worth spending money on. If it needs an overhaul, Mahle makes a 10cc 1mm ring pack forged pistons in various sizes. DSS also makes a 3cc, 5cc and 12cc forged piston with a 1.5mm ring pack in various sizes.
Dr Dan Mascal builds the 2004R and he was in Florida. I believe he is now in Georgia. He was a GM tech for 25 years and has built them behind serious power. I would not buy anything from CK, took months and pretty sure they sent me a bad high performance pump. It would not shift even after...
Well, I pulled the pin. The way too old studded tires were replaced with the Continental Winter Contact SI Plus tires. There was some galvanic corrosion where the weights were cleaned up painted and clear coated in those spots. I also got the Schrader tire sensors, they swear by them, will get...
They are on clearance for a really good price in the 235/60R18 I need for my AWD Challenger. Even with adding 4 new wheel sensors, they are cheaper than studded tires on sale. Then the cost of studding and new sensors. I will check date codes, as long as I can get 5 Winters out of them before...
Surprised the battery disconnect still works. Unfortunately when I the oil yet again, it didn't start! The fuel pump wasn't running found the battery ground was tight and came disconnected. Still no fuel pump, could jump it. Replaced the Mr.Gasket 5 pin relay. Still no, injectors aren't turning...
I went on the Holley EFI forum. I tried the AT trans tune, only had first this time. I then used the NT tune, trans works as it should now. Will see how it works this week.
That should be a 800 cfm Qjet. The secondary pulloff can be removed, glad you found one. Cliff's pull offs are the best, he actually adds restriction so they don't release too quickly and cause a bog. Yeah probably the factory fuel pump. Glad the old girl is still floating along.
So many hours spent and not a lot accomplished. So I started the day by marrying Cutlassefi's tune to my 4L80E. Of course the Holley files are poorly labeled. I tried the default and another, one has shift tables, the other did not. Both did a weird in and out of gear. So that marriage ended in...
Well, the Challenger is starting to show some wear and tear. I see one stitch on the outside edge of the drivers seat has let go and the 8.4 touch screen is starting to deamination on top. One is an easy fix, the other not so much.
The 4L60E failed often in trucks, talking a stock 5.3 was too much for them, especially towing. There was a long standing TSB from GM, offered an affordable reman because of it. Make sure whoever builds it, does all the factory plus aftermarket upgrades for it to live.
They bolt right in the same and depending on year, use the same converter. Glad you trust them behind decent power, I don't. You control lock up and shift points easier, otherwise you nothing other than a 5 pinion planet gear set on later versions. The 4L80E is a different story, much stronger.
A front mounted oil line like the Olds V8 requires the 5 foot line. A back mounted line on an engine, the 4 ft would easily do, if not 3 ft, depending on gauge placement.
Running the same on my 70S. I have a T with the braided line and a $20 Amazon vs the $200 Holley pressure sensor. The cheap sensors read about 10 psi lower compared to the mechanical gauges but hard to choke down $400 for oil and fuel pressure sensors, which I also have. Also have a mechanical...
The boat battery started today multiple times but wasn't super happy even after charging it for 3 hours last night, it is going back in the boat. I installed this tonight, 750 CCA 150 RC AGM battery with a 5 year free replacement.
Only the W31 got bigger valves 1.995"/1.625", otherwise 1.875"/1.56" on all others. The spec is 64cc, usually 3 to 5cc bigger untouched. They do give around 9 to 1 on a 403 with stock pistons and flow much better on the exhaust side than the stock 4A heads. Olds don't have seat recession issues...
Well, obviously this battery is tiny cranking amps, was at 12.8 volts last night. It starts once, not that enthusiastically. The Olds always stalls on initial start, needed boosting on the second start. One thing I noticed is the battery is charging at 14.6-14.7 volts. It only charged at high...
