    Neat A good freshened up factory setup with the bracing, stiffer shocks and springs handles quite well. Use that as a starting point. Yes, you'll have to do it twice but you'll learn how things go together.

    I wonder if the p/o had a shop mess with the block and they bored it weird. There is quite literally no reason for the engine to be 3.85 inches. Send a pic of how you're measuring the bores, I get that you keep coming up with the same measurement, but i still cant wrap my head around this...

    k1500 runs, runs good. need to do some fiddly stff yet, but it's mobile. also adjusted the shift linkage and cleaned up the rusty *ss linkage itself.

    Measure the pistons around the skirts, see what diameter they are.

    If the bore really is 3.85" (make sure the calipers are zero'd out when closed and not dirty), then it'll probably have to go another .010 to make it .060 over so you can find pistons. idk why someone would bore it .050 over, no one makes .050 over buick pistons.

    I've got new heads for it, freshly machined for $80. It ran fine before, or about as fine as a somewhat neglected 230,000 mile TBI 350 can. It does seem to have a slightly worn lobe on #5, but I'm not about to put a cam in anything. Didn't clack or make noise so eff it.

    Got a set of freshly machined heads for $80. Word has it guy had the heads done I stalled them and found out the engine was stuck. Don't look like they were ever ran, just installed. Surface rust from sitting.

    I bet their machines are setup for Chevy and they're too lazy to change em. Aside from having a hole or being cracked in half there is no reason they can't work on it.
