Finally got an around to putting the fuel tank in. It was a little tight with the stock straps and the filler neck was a little high up. Both of which I expected. For the neck I stuck a long pry bar in the filler neck and gently pulled down on it.
From what I have seen the stock pump is only good for about 121lph. From most online calculators that's good for about 350 fwhp. I'm sure you can easily fit a 525 in there and they support 650 easy.
I have wanted to do the same, I was the tank to be centered and a little larger. Only issue I have found is that there isn't any options for higher hp stuff unless you just run a surge tank with a couple pumps in it.
Did quite a it today.
Pulled the heads on the 6 liter. It was just the right amount of dirty. Cleaned the pistons. Sorta cleaned the deck.
I also installed the new steering box and Amazon “Jeep” shaft. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of that. The good news. It is actually a quick ratio box.
Ordered the tank and also went ahead and order a reman steering box. Mine had been leaking for some time, I was hesitant on ordering one because I wanted a quick ratio one. I ordered a Cardone 27-6550. Seems like some people have luck with those actually being quick ratio boxes.
Since I like pain and suffering I decided to buy in on an event in Dec.
I signed up for the roll race class. Ideally I would love to have the 6.0 short block and 4l80 in it by then but that might be pushing it. Main things I need to do is put a dash back in it along with the new fuel tank. I...
They gave me hell when I ordered my old sender. Claimed it had to be sold through a dealer. They still sold it me anyway. I ask because the site also shows sold by dealers only.
I… uhhhh…
So the jack slipped a little and now I need a new tank…
Hopefully the sender isn’t hurt. If it is I guess I’ll be spending spending that 4l80 money somewhere else.
For the price of those tork thrust you can get billet specialties in exactly your spec for less.
Which might be the route I take. My biggest hurdle is the 8.8 is 5x4.5 and has 5/8 studs so my options are even lower on wheels.
I think I want to do mine. When I swap the 6.0 short block. My car has always has insane under hood temps. I have to insult my power wire to fight a hot start issues. I also have high IATs
I might be okay just need to try one this was when I have the 17” from runners
I wouldn’t mind 17x9 in the front but I would love a 17x11 in the rear
Currently on 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 in the rear.
Good lord! I need some tissue!
I would love a set of soft 8s just not sure if they would clear my brembos.
That one with a 315 those don’t look like 17x9 I wonder where he got a wider set from.
