    BUILD THREAD “The Juggernaut”

Great work as always, Donovan, you’re most certainly going to have to leave the trunk open at the road course, drive and drag or just a simple cruise in to show off the work done on that tail panel! Put my vote in for bolt on, I have no doubt it’ll be seamless to all but the most curious eyes...

Looks really good, nice work getting it all cleaned up! I opened up a house of horrors when I pulled the rug out of my car, you lucked out for sure. 👍

What did you do to your g-body today 2025 Edition!

Got the new steering box installed in the '80 today. Actually finished it up is more like it as I was waiting on the new pitman arm for the 800 series box. Everything went together fine, filled and bled the system and put the belts back on the engine. I removed them so I could remove the...

    1985 Buick lesabre

Nice, classy car! Way back when my boss had the wagon version of that car with the same wheels, I used to be summoned from the back store room to bring that car around and fuel it up on the company dime. Big spacious comfortable cruiser. 👍

CUTLASS Help need a Pitman Arm

I bought a new power steering box from Rock Auto, USA Standard Gear , ZSG7560 with 26 spline input and 32 spline out. This box has the 4 bolt cover over the sector shaft, my original box has the snap ring cover over the sector shaft and I wanted to upgrade to the box with more adjustability...

What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

The new steering box and rag joint showed up today. Hopefully be able to put aside a day in the next week or so and get it done. No major rush unfortunately, winter has arrived and the roads around here have high blood pressure with all the damn salt on the roads so the car isn’t going anywhere.

I understand your frustration, Donovan, don't blame you for taking a step back to think on it. But I also understand that a guy like you won't be stumped for long and be back with the fix for the problem! (y)

What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

I am replacing the original Saginaw box because the one I have is sloppy with no more room for adjustment. My car came with the cheaper box without the 4 bolt cap on the sector shaft. Will report back on the new box once I install it and get in some miles, hopefully this works out. 🤞

What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

I just ordered a New steering box for the '80 at RockAuto, USA STANDARD GEAR ZSG7560, shows a ratio of 3-3.5 lock to lock so that should be an improvement over the original Saginaw. Also ordered a new rag joint just in case, the one in the car doesn't seem sloppy but may as well change it out...

I like it, but closing off the back might be just as much effort as removing it altogether. Flip a coin I guess?

What did you do to your g-body today 2025 Edition!

Took the car for drive by the family beach house in Plymouth MA. New England has been in a cold snap since Monday and there is still a big northeast blow coming from off shore, rows of breakers crashing into the rocks out front. Very cold, only grabbed one picture and got back in the car...

Yet another instance of really great fabrication work that, for the most part, nobody will ever notice. That's a shame..... Nice work, Donovan! (y)
