The Zakim is a neat bridge, been a while since I’ve passed through Boston. Looks like it was a beautiful day for a drive! The dash gages look cool, could get used to that view.
I pushed my Cutlass out of it’s bay to get things cleaned and cleared out so I can set the new / used low rise lift into her stall this week. She’ll be getting some sun next couple days, good weather forecast so no worries.
Sprayed the last half dozen coats of satin poly on the table top this evening and left it out in the sun to dry. Assembled it and brought it inside to it's new home in the living room. It's a 3.5" thick Douglas Fir top and 1"x4” Maple drawer and box. The legs are Pine but match pretty well...
Picked up another project for my garage shop this morning, it's a RIZR Low Rise Pit Lift. It's rated for 9000#'s and is really heavy duty. I used an engine hoist and chains for get it off my trailer and on the blocks. Going to get everything hooked up and make sure everything works before I get...
Got some poly sprayed on the coffee table project, just a few coats for now. Need to get the legs and framework put together and stained now. Will give the top a few more coats later on. Got a bunch of other odds and ends done yesterday as well, finished up all the baseboard molding in the...
Your last comment about Rust made me laugh, Donovan. Years ago a friend of mine had slipped a very well built 454 Chevy BB into his 2nd generation Camaro. On the back spoiler he had “S A F O” hand painted. That car was stupid fast, at the time, compared to most anything in the area.
Good for you, Donovan, glad it was an easy fix and not a major tear down. It’s been a long winter and it sure would have been a shame to have the car laid up with summer drive time right around the corner. 👍🥃
My ‘80 has been in my three stall garage / workshop for past 22 years and off the road since 1991. I got married and we bought an old house (that needed a lot of work), started a family and all that stuff. The car has had the body off the frame, entire floor replaced and complete suspension...
Small block Olds 350 in my ‘80. It was a no brainer when I upgraded from the 260. Pull the distributor and ancillary items and slam the new engine right back in place. I have a 455 Olds under the bench if that itch comes to pass, but I have an idea about the possibility of building a Ram Rod...
That’s a real clever idea for the notch, Donovan, looks like it’ll do the trick nicely. As usual, your attention to detail, even below the car, is amazing. Will be stowing away this idea for future use on my car, it needs it. 👍
