Yep, I'm almost ready. I didn't get as much as I wanted done, but I'm driving it and working out bugs this week.

Beater? Come up to Oklahoma and I'll show what El Camino beaters look like! Yours looks really nice, I love the colors. Welcome!

Your cars birth certificate-the build sheet.

Mine was under my headliner, perfectly preserved. I've used it several times when buying parts. I owe the assembly guy who stashed there a beer.

    Factory 78+ Light Blue Interior

My pieces are all assorted colors from different sources. Everything looks like the same shade to me. I got my pics downloaded out of my phone and I hope to be able a few tonight from home.

    Factory 78+ Light Blue Interior

The door panels and rear panel inserts were in good enough shape I decided not to dye them. I didn't want to risk ruining the mylar trim like I did on my Vega. But I went from tan to dark blue on my Vega and it worked well and has held up fine. I have pics on my phone, I will see if my tech guru...

    Factory 78+ Light Blue Interior

I have either replaced or redyed nearly every piece of my Light blue Monte Carlo interior with parts and paint from Dixie, and it looks great. The paint is expensive, but it flows beautifully and is an exact match. I had to use Malibu patterned seat covers, but they look good and match the...

Interested in buying an 86 Monte Carlo, what should know, ask and check before buying?

If it has rust in the trunk, chances are it has rust in the floors. Check the front pans by the toe board and the rears in front of the back seat. That's a lot of money if it's rusty.

Shiny speakers! Seriously, it looks great. Color always shows the effort you put in more than primer. That gray is going to be awesome with the white, and will make the wheel "accident" look like the perfect plan all along!

10.1 double din Joying Android Radio

I like it a lot. Mine has several USB inputs, so I can have music on one and movies on another and not have to switch them around. Mine has IGO nav built in and it's better than the factory nav in my Camaro. The Bluetooth works well and the streaming music is seamless. I've only used the...

10.1 double din Joying Android Radio

Never seen that before, but it looks interesting. I have an Android radio in my HHR. It's a Chinese brand and has been as glitchy as you'd expect, but when it works properly it's very nice to have. Who is the source of that one?

    Dad's 62 Ford Galaxie

Another great thread! This one reminds me of my own dad. I always knew him as a quiet, reserved guy with a passion for big, fast Fords. As I got older, I learned he was quite the hell raiser in his younger days, and those Fords spent a lot of time on the streets racing for money. My mom (his...

    Sean's 78 Camaro Z28

I just read this thread beginning to end. It did nothing to cure the Camaro jones I'm trying to resist. Beautiful car, color and wheels. Congratulations! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to read your Dad's Galaxy thread...

Making a life long dream come true

Great start! I think we've all jumped the gun on a car only to find a better one soon after. And I know I've taken two and built one, more than once. Keep after it!

Are swap meets going down hill?

Pretty sure swap meets are another casualty to the internet. It's too easy to post up your stuff for a national audience. The one good swap meet near me has been in decline for a couple of years now. There's still deals to be found, but not as many sellers as there used to be.
