I’m a firm believer in get it running and driving to work out all of the electrical kinks. Then clean it up from there one piece at a time.
I practice what I’m preaching.
Regarding the PS pump, head off to the junk yard and grab a stock PS setup. You might have to buy a couple of aftermarket...
‘All the stall’ should be the word IMHO.
Most old school people equate high stall to a slip, but that’s not the case. A quality converter with 3000 stall will act just the same as a 2000 stall when cruising at 1500-2500 rpm’s, unless the converter is a piece of crap.
My converter will stall to...
Be ready to drive when the tires brake loose. The torsen does not apply an even amount of power to each wheel and it changes based on wheel load. It will want to turn you around.
Are you aware of how a Torsen feels when doing a burnout, especially a rolling burnout? It’s not the same as other types of posi units - be advised.
A cheap axle upgrade is S10 2wd axles. The bare approx 3/16-1/4” longer., but they will work.
I and when you swap from the TH350 to the 200-4R...
Fixed that number
MAF is definitely a much better option for ‘stockish’ setup if an ECM is being used that can utilize it. Most aftermarket ECU’s are not emissions control devices whereas the emissions is the primary purpose of a factory ECM.
A MAP and MAF sensor are doing the same thing - basically. Meaning they are supplying data to the ECM so that ECM can determine how much fuel to add via a 2 axis table with one axis being RPM and the other being the MAP or MAF reading. A MAF sensor reads the actual amount of air being ingested...
They were cool as expected. But basically the difference in ambient temps. The meth injection is going back on so that in the heat I can keep them sub 180, and hopefully sub 150.
This was the video Bruce took. I've studied the log plenty. When I was wandering around, I lost the rear tire 5 times. It felt awful and I lifted - this happened on 1-2 shift. Hopefully the converter can be loosened to help resolve that.
I really need to get some testing in. I am relieved...
I’m not sure if racing with a street drive in January is one of my brightest ideas. Maple Grove is 3 hrs south of me and they have zero of the white stuff.
I’ll let you know tomorrow how the street drive works out at 30 degrees with no heat lol.
I think you’re somewhat confused. I wish I knew what the ECM needed for each condition, but I’m not a factory ECM guy.
I’m confident that your ECM has two inputs. The question is whether they are 0 volt or 12 volt. 0 (zero) volt implies that ECM is looking for ground when the brakes are...
A member here supplied me with uppers and 1.5" drop spindles. I'm using the factory lower and it's low. I spoke to TRZ this past week about purchasing the lowers. Their site says that installing the lowers, by themselves, will drop the front farther which I don't want. So I'm going to stick with...
Looks like progress. I'm using a similar spindle from TRZ. Be advised, they will lower the car a fair amount.
Keep the updates coming. Despite my lack of responses, I'm watching everything you're posting!
Now that I can see it, I agree that it's a goofy looking piece, but it's a bolt in. For those that don't want to fabricate it's a very good solution that gives you the option to upgrade and/or swap transmissions without issue. I hope they sell them like it's a fire sale because they are truly...
The transmission mount needs only enough strength in the crossmember to hold it in a 'location'. Using the crossmember as a frame strengthener though is not a bad idea either.
Don't let the material determine what to buy. See above. It only needs to hold the trans where it's supposed to be...
