anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Did a little real world planning sunday between getting back to the widebody project & yardwork. Don't have as much room to make room in some areas as I thought but got a few possible designs & paths. One thought would be to use my tri-y merge collectors in a correct sequence, which would be...

    Can't find a T56

I thought about the zf vette 6 speeds also. Not a whole lot of info on them, but best I've ever heard there weren't any known issues with them, gm just switched to borg warner as the 1st t-56 supplier.

    Can't find a T56

That's pretty cool to know on the CD01 trans. Did a little quick check just for the hell of it as to what's needed. Saw one trans from direct Japanese importer for $550 , you pick up .Ok not bad. Then the front plate & pilot bearing adapter from Collins $500. A little labor swapping it. Then...

For those who might care, Power Nation moving to History Channel

On the subject of being entertained, we all need to play a little dumb when watching tv, nothing new there. I like counting cars for what it's worth , but one episode Danny happens to find 5 finger death punch guitarist broke down on the side of the road on a bike ride. He pulls air clearer...

    Can't find a T56

There are salvage yards that can order in parts, that is my main advice here. Got a 1990 t-5 in 1991 shipped in on a palate, was awesome. Got a beat up 85 t-5 a few years later from individual, had the wore out shifting feel. Got a 99'ls1 with 6 speed, 33k miles in 02' from a guy traveling car...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

This is closest to a build thread right now. I've done several threads over the years such as steel ground effects. There is also a you tube video in this thread from earlier this year before I started cutting back apart & ran out of time...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Guess a 2016 camaro nose won't fit either. I do have more room to move the radiators having the camaro nose than the average g body does & if I do this someday it will be a much more compact shorter tube version, not a highly tuned version. It would also be mild steel to be...

For those who might care, Power Nation moving to History Channel

Thanks for the heads up.Now I will have zero reason to scroll to paramount channel. What really amazes me is how little time it takes to watch the shows recorded on dvr if you skip the actual commercials, plus the same ole same ole in show advertisements , like dustless blasting & hot shots. Hey...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Thanks for the link, hadn't saw that one yet. In fact there just isn't much info on these things that I've seen yet---at all. This example looks to be seriously built for pipe length & tuning needs, Makes the Tanner Faust car version look compact next to it. Apparently there definitely is...

GM Announces eCOPO Electric Camaro Drag Car, Hints at EV Crate Motors

The industry as a whole needs us to test & fund the testing of this stuff to learn from, mass produce to be able to lower cost, and advance it. Honestly I think batteries are still the biggest hold up. While the lack of noise would make track drag racing less exciting, it could move the way...

Passenger front wheel sticks out further than driver side

What Haley just said backs up what I said. On my front end components last time I reinstalled, I did pry everything over at the old rubber mounts before final tightening. In one spot at the core support I was shimming it up anyways to close the upper door gap & have a bracket running through 1...

Passenger front wheel sticks out further than driver side

Not uncommon on older cars especially with bigger wheels & sitting lower to see this body misalignment. My passenger side is still a hint tighter after listening mounts & shifting over.

Has anyone ever "flushed" quarter glass?

I tried flushing the quarter windows on my 83 el camino, in which the quarter glass has to line up with the door glass perfectly. The factory glass did not have useable edges to line up or be seen. I used 1/4" lexan And ground down the back & bottom inside edge thinner to fit without additional...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Thanks Fleming. What I meant was IF I were to do the 8 into 1 design , it would be for sound reasons over the tri-y header setup I started on & never completed. The 180 degree design gives a similar effect to the 8 into 1, but I think the 180 degree thing would even be harder for me, even more...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Yea, it would be a ridiculous amount of work for a sound. Can't argue that I'm famous for starting & not finishing some things, especially the complex ones. you nailed me there. But as stated, this is a consideration for a future project. FAR future, in place of the never test fitted & welded up...

anyone ever hear 8 into 1 headers in person or know info about.

Recently heard a few videos with 8 into 1 sequential merge headers, which gives a distinct higher revving sound similar to a flat plane crank engine , such as Ferrari. Pretty similar to 180 degree headers sound. Obviously the main reasons you don't see more of them is packaging issues for...
