Speakers won't fit in door 87 elco

It comes down to the shallower speakers more than likely won't be as good as what ya got now. You buy nice speakers for sound, I'd space them out You could buy or make spacers from 3/4" mdf.

    finding a leak

I've had a small ps leak on my hydroboost equipped LS swap for years. Clean as I keep it & as open as the area is, I can see it's a hose & not pump or steering box. As good of a spray degreasing & pressure washing you can do definitely helps, so you can see what's fresh. Now for my ac...

Engine Stalling after 10-20 of driving

Ignition coil going bad can sometimes cause similar issues, though most likely issues such as internals of rubber line near pump going bad or failing pump. Other parts , such as main jets, power valves, rods, springs sometimes need adjusting to be optimized. Haven't worked on carbs much last...

    Projects put aside.

Haven't had time to work on in over a month, recently pulled out to look at all the new mocked up changes. Lowered rear frame, mostly finished hand fabbing forward controls, mocking up rear disc brakes, exhaust with chrome covers, making my own muffler for low restriction & quiet, stainless...

Seeing your car again for the first time

My wife was driving a 7 year old 83 cutlass at age 28 when I met her. Enjoyed watching her walk away too in those days. Many of us spend so much time up close on our projects, walking away from it in a parking lot is the only time we get to see what everyone else sees.

    Modern A/C swap from donor?

If talking about swapping an entire system, mounting a different ac compressor will be the least difficult part. Mounting a different condenser up front isn't that bad either, Fitting a different evaporator /heater unit with controls would be a huge task. Connecting vents & their controls would...

    MALIBU Looking for vintage air

Did a vintage air compac unit back in approx 2007. Lots of fabwork. Did a steel firewall box shaped similar to Tony's. Under the dash I used leftover early mopar kit vintage air defrost ducts. Used round billet specialties vents. Fabbed box brackets. Ran air & heater hoses through a slot with...

    hydro boost bla bla

Got factory hb on the 83 elky, little extra hose mess , also like the pedal feel. Hb is usually an upgrade both factory & aftermarket. Not sure about the electric change, but factories many time change something that is proven to work for something that may not be as good.

    What's your favorite degreaser?

Growing up even us kids got washed with gas sometimes, has it's place. Recently found out purple power is pretty much same stuff as bleach white, but much cheaper in volume. Original basic Dawn or the HDX knockoff is a great final clean, even before paintwork, so it will always have it's...

Anyone just keeping it stock to cruise around anymore?

Depends what stock is. My LS1 6 speed I put in in 2002' is still all internally stock & it's pretty ok for just cruising, whether in a straight line or sideways with the rear tires crying like a little girlie. Would be much better internally modified...

    Projects put aside.

Haven't used the scalloped rotor yet, but these sorts of shapes are common on custom and stock bikes these days, as well as bicycles & go carts. Lighter rotating mass along with better dust removal & cooling. Getting started on my seat framework, need to triangulate more support , as I'm doing...

    Projects put aside.

Got phase 1 of turning dirt bike into drift trike done this week & tried it out in driveway. At low speed you can keep it controlled & do a 180 or 360 i the width of a car's parking spot. Phase 2 is lowering seat height, which involves lowering rear suspension, cutting frame , air box, exhaust...
