MONTE CARLO "COPO" Monte Carlo SS - Turbosaurus Build (Swinging Dick Racing's c*ck got bent... she bounced a little too high & hard, & came down awkwardly)

Hey Mike, ever hear any of these 8 into 1 header setups. thinking about one in the future just for sound reasons, plus would make a good single turbo mount. doubt it would be any power advantage & much easier said than done to correctly build a nest of snakes. But damn, having a g-body sound...

    1979 El Camino Build

Hey, just like no one else has some of my mods, Hadn't really seen anyone else yet with flares like yours. Even if they ain't perfect, their a known stand out in the crowd. Many people look up to that stuff. Best I can see from pics, they aren't beyond a little more metal work & some good...

    1979 El Camino Build

Hey Dude, hadn't heard from you in a while. Life gets in the way of projects for all of us, gets worse as you get older , so don't feel bad. You still have it, that's what's most important. I've had a few friends locally text me the above car show last couple of years, YEA , I know who that...

    Check out this El Camaro...

So now that maybe my foot is out my mouth, I was mainly posting here since you said you hadn't seen an el camaro before to give you a little info. Lauren engineering makes 80's camaro IROC styled fronts. Their most popular looking rear upgrade is the roll pan with the 4 zr1 vette style lights...

    Check out this El Camaro...

Actually I was just making the point that there are other weird wtf el camaro's out there ( mine being among the wierdiest that get's the worst comments) & just trying to be funny. Not actually trying to tell anyone what to do or trying to offend anyone & I'm not worried about what anyone...

    Check out this El Camaro...

At least this title wasn't about mine though it has been. Likely did copy from show, but when it comes to custom work, who knows who really did what first. Many people can have the same ideas. Custom work may draw out many haters, but without it, it wouldn't get much attention. On to the...

waiting for the very strong opinions

Kinda looks photoshopped to me. The wrecker bed says turbo buick?? It has some cool to it, but not quite just right. EH, I think I need to get back to my widebody el camino project, as is the one that will have gradually curved out all steel quarters & not what can I rivet on stuff.

    LSX WITH STOCK GAUGES

I went with the autometer ultralites in 2002 with my swap mainly for the peace of mind particularly for the tach running a 6 speed. A little money upfront, but worth it, Didn't know tuning was an option now for tach pulse correction. but for the autometer tach, set the 4/6/8 cylinder switch on...

    LSX WITH STOCK GAUGES

I 've wired in a different factory setup in the formerly diesel 83 el camino and later hacked off the connector & put in autometer pro comps. Not sure where my old notes are right now & seems like there were some variables in location between different years of gauge & idiot light setups.. But...

    Last Concert + Next Concert

My hearing at live concerts or even a few people talking at one time ain't what it used to be, sounds muffled if it isn't good clean sound. That being said, My company work van I drive far more than my own has a 450 watt amp for the 2- 12's behind my seat And a 75 x 4 amp for the other speakers...

Thoughts on a LS1 complete drop in swap-any better bang for the buck?

If that's a reasonably low mileage ls3 with the computer , harness & everything that goes with it, that may not be a bad price.Several other reasons I said newer ls3. For one, the 6 speed they call a tr6060 is what the aftermarket calls a magnum 6 speed. Price one of the lately? Also so many...

Thoughts on a LS1 complete drop in swap-any better bang for the buck?

If money is less of an issue to get what you want, which partly is reliability, maybe consider getting a much later model takeout of an ls3 and drop it in ,as is.

Thoughts on a LS1 complete drop in swap-any better bang for the buck?

Whatever used LS drivetrain you may consider, a complete setup which may include the vehicle it is in is the way to go. Many of the issues requiring spending money can be fabbed out if you have the skill. I have an f-body pan in my g-body after cutting & reboxing crossmember. Someone on...

Setting up a new unconventional AC system

Particularly with the output of your engine, your probably better off keeping it simple with the fixed idler & not having the negative problems of spring tensioners. One double check on tension after a few miles of use & you should be good for quite some time.

Setting up a new unconventional AC system

Don't think it 100% matters if an idler pulley is a self adjusting tensioner or manual adjusted, both have their good & bad points. An idler inline will also help take the slap out of a long belt length. Street & performance used to be a good source for individual accessories, but heard not the...

    Single stage black help

I've used the nason ss before. It's reasonable quality, can look close to clearcoated surface right next to it, but a little more maintenance to keep looking nice in the elements. I'm doing the southern polyurethanes ss black next. Deeper black & quality of much more expensive products. Great...

    How can you not laugh.

The thing I find the least funny of all with oversized wheels on so many vehicles is being the person in front of them in a panic stop situation. Several thousand dollars in new wheels invested on stock brakes. In the past month alone I saw 2 different wrecks involving mid 2000's Impalas on 24...

Need some help on Blazer spindles with LS1 front brakes

Kevin , there are several threads on here about the subject, but things can be a little confusing. Not sure right off what variables in mounting the baer t-4's may present of any, but basically 2 methods for mounting 98 to 02 camaro calipers & rotors. Doing a spindle swap to the 2wd blazer...
