What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Checked and upgraded the antifreeze (to -35C) and then washed the car. Turned off the master battery switch, hooked up the trickle charger and put the new cover on it, for the winter. This year I am keeping the LCD faceplate, for the Pioneer, in the house. Don't want to have to buy another one.

Picked up my 2 new M/T ET Streets and 2 M/T Sportsman tires for the front.

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

After 'accidentally' spinning my tires for 1/8 mile, at the dragstrip, they won't let me in burnout contests anymore. I once did a burnout, to test my line lock, and for rest of the year people were out there trying to beat my black marks ...

NEW 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremem Classic value ?

Exactly. THe production numbers for this car were less than 24,000 which probably makes it about as rare as some of the more notable models.

NEW 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremem Classic value ?

My first question would be: Why did the PO do this? Why would he/she buy a bunch of generic cars and not register or drive them? Was this car really that special? It was the last year of the rear wheel drive line, but other than that? What's the Kelly Blue book value? The base retail...

What time do you think my car will run as it is right now?

Re: What time do you think my car will run as it is right no Yes, ALL, meaning no matter what the stall is. I just meant that it won't be slipping any more than usual.

What time do you think my car will run as it is right now?

Re: What time do you think my car will run as it is right no No, the conversation is interestng. I understand what you are saying, but it is predicated on the fact that my car was already going as fast as it could, which it wasn't. Basically, it was running 'out of the box' so to speak...

What time do you think my car will run as it is right now?

Re: What time do you think my car will run as it is right no The Monte is mostly street. The suspension is more roadrace than drag, but it works. From what I understand it will make no difference what stall I use on the street, just have to keep in mind what happens if I put the pedal to the...

What time do you think my car will run as it is right now?

Re: What time do you think my car will run as it is right no Depends on who you talk to but they recommend anywhere from 3000-3500rpm stall for my setup. I just don't like to spend $400 to go from 2500-3000! The converter I have was supposed to be 2200stall, but with the torque I have it's...

What time do you think my car will run as it is right now?

Re: What time do you think my car will run as it is right no '83 Monte, 9" w/3.73 gears, locker, 28" slicks (too tall) TH400 with shift kit and solonoid switch, 2500 stall, dual 3" exhaust with dumps (caps removed), 502/502 big block ~540hp and I've run 12.202 @ 110mph. I spun the street...

NEW 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremem Classic value ?

I would guess it depends on why you want it. If you were a museum, and wanted a mint version of this car you would likely pay a fair amount. If you plan to buy it and drive it around, the mileage is irrlevant, it's just another used car. For me, while I think it is neat to find cars like...

Kind of. You don't re time the motor, you change the springs/weights in the in the distributor. You set your initial timing at whatever you need to (for me 12deg BTDC) then you change the weights to get the correct maximum timing and then change the springs to adjust how fast or slow the...

"plug off the vacuum on the dist and run straight 32-36 degrees constant? Yall must be running cam 2" Not constant, you run 8-12 initial and the rest centifrugal.

"he was in the 1/8th" Ah, that would explain it, we don't have any tracks that short here! "30 degrees? must be at full vacuum, im running 15 degrees at idle ~1000rpms " Vacuum advance has nothing to do with racing. In fact, you should disconnect the vacuum advance at the track. 30deg is...

What are you using for a transmission? Have to be in OD to gt those numbers! Running 28x10.5 MT ETs and a TH-400 I was hitting the 1/4 mile at 5600rpm

Not confused, I know what the frame is. I boxed mine, as do most who run any big horsepower. You should see the buckles in the floor of the Nova SS! It's a professionally built (John Lingenfelter) SS/G car and it still wrinkled the floor due to torque twist! You are relying on your cage to...

Actually, it isn't a full-frame car, it has pseudo full-frame. If you look underneath you will see that there is a front and rear subframe connected by a partial frame in the center. You can either fabricate or buy connectors that bolt through the front and rear frames and stitch weld to the...

4.11 is fine, just need to run 28" tall (or so) tire. I run 3.70s with 26x10.5"" slicks. Our '68 Nova SS runs 4.56 with 32" x 15" slicks. We've been running 32"x16" on the '27 roadster, with 4.56s. Not sure what you would wan to use with the 4.88s probably 34"?

What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Finished the battery to trunk move, got the passenger side header in and sealed up. Replaced the 'hub' cap on the Cragar SS , that has been missing for about 10 years. Tried to put in the Driver's side header, but need to get the car higher off the floor.

Box the control arms, and build subframe connectors. You should also move the 'eyes' on the top of diff, where the upper control arms connect, up a couple of inches. There is formula, your local chassis shop will know. You'll have to change gears, too. I don't think you want to run 36"...
