    Sway bar width

Does someone have a rear sway bar handy that they can measure the overall width for me at the two sets of mounting holes? I am temporarily without a Gbody, so I cant do it myself, but I am thinking I can source a sway bar from one that I can use on another project, I just need to confirm...

Swapping 350 vortec in 1987 Cutlass. Anyone installed cruise control on a Vortec?

I took a complete electronic cruise assembly out of an early 90s chev truck/suburban and mounted it on the passenger fenderwell. It is electronic, self contained in one unit, and required only a few wires to hook up. The cruise control/ turn signal stalk off of that vintage truck fits as well...

    Column Shift options for 700r4

I used the stock linkage on my Malibu wagon when i put in my 700R4. It has to be adjusted just perfect in order to operate the transmission, but once I got mine adjusted properly it has been that way for years now. As far as the indicator on the dash I installed one out of a Monte SS and it...

Ls swap fuel tank options for Wagon

I installed a pickup and pump out of a c1500 pickup into my wagons tank when I did my EFI install. It required a bit of bending to fit. Surprisingly I have had no pickup issues in spite of having no baffling in the tank. I can run it damn near dry and it has no problems at all. Go figure. Roy

    Corvette "Ram Horn" Manifolds?

I used LT1 exhaust manifolds. They dump at the rear, fit with no problem, and flow better than any other rear exit manifolds I know of. Roy

I think you need a 2nd car to house the 455. Then you can have the best of both worlds.

how to remove trim from wagon rear hatch window?

Has anyone succesfully accomplished removing the stainless trim that wraps the rear hatch window? It appears to me as though it is simply "glued" on to there but mine seems to be very very tightly attached. I thought about heating it up some to loosen whatever is holding it but have not yet...

    seat belt latches

Are the seat belt latching mechanisms for the front seats different between years? Specifically I want to know if an 83 model male end will plug in to an 87 model reciever. Thanks Roy

hate my headers, looking for an alternative..

I used LT1 exhaust manifolds on my build so that I would never have to deal with all of the header problems and i could not be happier with that decison. If they cost me a few HP so be it. They are one of the best flowing exhaust manifolds GM ever built, and they are rear dumps. I have no...

    supercharging my elcamino

I dont know about untouchable, but I had an 82 El Camino that I put over 50K miles on as a daily driver. It had basically a stock Qjet equipped 350 smog motor in it with a B&M forced induction on top of it. It got better mileage with the B&M on it than it did without it, idled and drove like a...

moog cargo coil cc627 vs 5391 wagon spring

Does anyone have any experience between the two of these springs? I currently have the cargo coils on my wagon, and the "soft" portion of the spring seems to me like it is a bit too soft. Despite trying several types of shocks, I think that the rear has a bit too much movement initially, sort of...

What holds the malibu dash trim on?

On my 83 Malibu the woodgrain dash trim panel on the passenger side above the glove box is loose. On the back of it, at the bottom of this panel are a few tabs that stick into slots and catch to keep it from falling off. At the top of it however there are just posts that stick into the slots and...

Why You Don't Box Rear Upper Control Arms

I used tubular uppers in my wagon and used the poly bushing that came on the body side, but left the rubber bushing on the rearend side. I have not noticed any issues with the action of the rear suspension since the install. It definitely solved the moving side to side problem however and my...

    body lean

Mine also leaned to the left in spite of all new springs shocks and bushings. On a wagon the gas tank is entirely on that side as well as the previously mentioned items. You can see the left side lower substantially as you fill up the tank. I actually used about a 1/2" coil spring spacer on that...
