What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

I hope not but can't rule out the possibility. But I'll guarantee she curbs that insurance-grade junkyard hubcap before the month is over.

    BUICK 1964 Skylark Coupe Project

Update time. Chased leads that lead to dead ends, talked with Rktpwrd, chased more leads, felt like there wasn't a great option so I walked away from it for a bit. Eventually determined the best solution was to take a chance on the Wolf Steel panels and try to make them work. Ordered them a...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Anyways, finished up the Hyundai today. Replacement tank is in, I touched up a couple surface rust spots on the junkyard tank with POR-15. Rear rotors and pads got replaced. The pads actually weren't bad, but the rotors were awful and they were making a lot of noise. The new ones are a lot...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

This car has been generally fine, but it still doesn't have the build or material quality of a Yaris or Honda Fit. Works great for how my sister uses it. The 1.6L Gamma engine seems reliable, it's small and easy for her to drive and park in the city, and parts are cheap and readily available...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

I generally consider Hyundais to be disposable but it has been relatively reliable, especially considering she does absolutely nothing to take care of it.

It wasn't, you can see the blue brushes behind the car.

The ones with the brushes are "slap n scratches". The self serves ones are "pay n sprays".

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

My younger sister had an accident in her Hyundai Accent and insurance didn't cover it, so I've been working on it in the garage over the last couple weeks. Between several junkyards, I found a color matched fender and door, got a junkyard headlight, wheel and hubcap. I repaired the bumper...

Saw a GN going through the slap n scratch wash. Probably not how I'd wash it, but it ain't my car...

What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

Bought four new tires for the F-150 and had them mounted on four wheels I bought off of Craigslist that were in better shape than the ones I had. I went up two sizes on the tires and went from a highway tire to an all terrain. I think they look a lot better and match the leveling kit nicely...

That's awesome the dash is nice. I would refrain from setting anything on it, bumping it, sneezing on it, breathing on it or looking at it funny. Maybe a good idea to throw a dash mat overtop to keep the sun off of it too. Check the plug at the sending unit for the fuel gauge. Mine worked...

Is that dash as nice as looks in the pictures? Truck is really cleaning up nicely. Looks to be heavily optioned too. I see the optional Infinity tweeters in the doors, CD player, power seat with lumbar, power mirrors, cruise, carpet, leather wrapped steering wheel. The carpet in mine was...

    Power Brake Drum Repaint help

Or paint it silver and dust your gold color over top to get the desired look if you can't find a close enough gold. I went through this rabbit hole with cad-plated carburetor parts. I've yet to really find a solution that I was happy with.

    WTF Hot Rod Magazine?

Motortrend has been on a downhill spiral since Roadkill started requiring their MTOD subscription to view the latest episode. I subbed to MTOD for one year and dropped it and I don't miss it. I refuse to even watch the television channel that comes with my cable subscription out of spite.

I worked with a guy who had one. He would refer to it as it as "his bike", to which I would immediately correct him by quietly interrupting with "not a bike". Then he'd get mad and not talk to me for the rest of the day. I found it humorous.

    degreasing your engine

I like Mean Green. It's like simple green but it seems to be a bit stronger. I use it in my ultrasonic for carburetors and chainsaw parts. It doesn't seems to etch the aluminum bodies of the carburetors, whereas Simple Green does. They sell it at Walmart and sometimes Dollar General.

Mine was a '97. Differences should be minimal. I believe there were some auto transmissions differences on the '94 and earlier trucks but my memory is a bit stale.
