Re: Lt1 vs Ls1 cost and power (In details) Id like to know more about how an LS is twice as much money to do as an LT1. I just dont see it.....$15 trans adapter, $50 mount plates. $225 oil pan, $275 headers. Am I missing anything else that the LS needs and the LT doesnt? I dont think...

Re: Lt1 vs Ls1 cost and power (In details) No fuel injected engine is going to be a "drop-in" The only thing harder about the LS style engine is that if you want to keep costs lower by avoiding the BRP mounts/headers youll need to run shorty headers/manifolds or modify Fbody headers. None...

Re: Lt1 vs Ls1 cost and power (In details) Or an LT1 ;) The only potentially significant cost difference between the LS and LT engines is going to be the ability to use off the shelf SBC exhaust. PAcesetter LS1 headers are well documented to fit an LS into a G but do require some...

Re: Lt1 vs Ls1 cost and power (In details) Also dont forget to compare apples to apples...the LT1 from the B/D bodies(big cars) doesnt have aluminum heads....these may be cheaper but they arent the LT1 most people really talk about when they talk about GenII motors. They may be cheaper but...

    electric versus mechanical gauges

Every modern car, airplanes, Formula1, American LeMans, etc use electric gauges....just saying. I still use mechanical vacuum/boost gauges, they are significantly less expensive than a comparable electrical gauge and a failure of the mechanical portion of the gauge is unlikely to damage the...

GAS TANK Options? - Stock Fitment > Street Use.

Aftermarket OE replacement fuel tanks that Ive seen all seem to be respectable quality, as long as we are talking a galvanized or other type of plating as corrosion protection, I tend to avoid the raw and painted tanks.

how important is EGR for a daily driver?

An egr system isn't 'important" for much notable beyond emissions on a modern engine(gasoline). It has numerous pros and cons. One important aspect especially on older engines is the lowering of combustion/exhaust temperatures as it relates to exhaust valve longevity. EGR does provide...

Why Did I Ever Build a Small Block?

Im sure there is, but they just as intolerant of babbling about carbs and RWD on their site as many here seem to be about me mentioning a DOHC4. :D At least much of what goes on here is far more civil than what happens on other forums.

    Corvette LS1

LS1 bolts right up to the TH350, youll need to modify the flywheel to torque converter bolt holes as the patterns are slightly different and youll need the 6.0L flywheel spacer and bolts, or one of the many available aftermarket options to mate an LS1 to a TH350.

    Corvette LS1

Around my area $1,400 for what you posted a picture of is an excellent deal if it ran before removal.... unlikely your rear will hold up to much abuse from an LS1 for a length of time. I know its the weak link n my 5.3 build

GNX, Grand National and T-Type coming back..

Funny thing is when Pontiac was killed off GM had a bunch of G8 front ends left.(and money in tooling)...the Australians kinda liked the G8 looks so there was an option to get the G8 front end (minus the Arrowhead) on your Commodore down under....not sure if it was available on the Ute. The...

They even held a contest to name it, it was so close to being here. :) I agree those are just photochopped ATS's, but it would be awesome if they brought back any one of those namplates....I find it hard...

Why Did I Ever Build a Small Block?

A cast iron BB is just too much weight in the nose of an A/G for me to enjoy driving, Ill b sticking with SBs. Hell Ive been contemplating an ECOTEC build for a long time now(315lbs fully dressed how can you go wrong)....hows that for a fire starter?
