A friend of mine has this beautiful 85 El Camino for sale. I thought about buying to pull a fishing boat but figured an actual truck would be better suited for that.

I fit the B&M Pro Ratchet in the stock console of my old car with no problem. Only had to pop off the plastic piece that had gear indicators on it. I also added a metal piece on top under the console that I painted black just to close up the gap and it also gave me a better place to stick the...
My first and probably last G-body was the 78 Calais in my sig that I sold in April. I loved the car but have others I preferred to keep over it. My 71 Malibu I've had for 20+ years and the wife wants it redone. Who am I to argue? :D My 47 Ford truck has been in the family since 1969 when my...
Couldn't choose between two of them. My 72 Delta 88 that I got for free needing a tire and radiator. Drove the car for 3 years and only had $310 in it not counting gas and oil. 94 Tercel I bought for $1200. I drove it for 4 years and then gave it to my Mom when they needed a more economical...
It looks likes it's drooping because it's on an incline but it really sits flat. The Hotchkis springs did lower it about 1 1/2". I did choose the shorter 24 1/2" tires to go with the stock 3.08 posi rear end. It makes for a good all around set up. Much more highway friendly than my 71...
At the shows and cruise-ins nobody pays it much attention until it's running. I like the surprise on peoples faces when I start it up. Definitely not a true sleeper with this exhaust but I love how the Flowmasters sound! I like to think of it as stealthy with an attitude. Can't pull...
Re: Share your "sleeper" secrets
I prefer the sleeper theme myself. Using the cruise control and trunk release as hidden switches are good ideas but don't forget about the rear defrost switch if your car has one of those too.
Didn't have to do any mods to the shifter or tunnel. Just had to drill new holes and mount the shifter. The only fabrication required was a plate to cover the shifter under the console top.
I put the B&M Pro-Ratchet in my 78 Calais. Had to pop off the gear indicator plastic on the left side and fab a slotted metal plate underneath the top just to close the gaps.
I was happy to find my 305 Cutlass since I had a SBC that came out of my 71 Chevelle just sitting around on an engine stand waiting to be freshened up a bit. I like all the "G"-bodies and they are reasonably priced and readily available compared to the older Chevelles/Camaros/Novas that would...
