My 69 z came with the headers in the trunk.
Define street car.. I drove my 67 to work all week. Stock? No.. street.. yes. At a Ford dealer no less. Took a bunch of stuff over that. Told them out run it, I'll buy a Ford. They got close we Cougar Eliminator some idiot traded in. It was built.
The...
Had a 70 AAR and no.
The 429 CJ was a boat anchor in heavy cars. No problem.
The car that was MOST troublesome was the Buick Stage One cars in the hands of a driver
I must have missed the "good big blocks" on the street cause I paid for my small block Camaro (s) street racing them.
Had many a loser tell me "if I'd had ten more feet.."
Of course we pasted a big block Road Runner one night with a 2000cc NHRA Legal Pinto... Stocker... The times in a row. He...
The 302 was very popular for a few reasons especially with us in the modified production classes.
Simple fact it made a lot of horsepower per cubic inch, a lot of HP for the day. The 4 inch bore allow the use of big valve, unlike the later 305 which was a turd. The short stroke was an advantage...
The 383 has become very popular because of the plentiful 4 inch bore blocks.
The 377 was a shorter stroke rev-ier motor. Less valve shrouding with the bigger bore as well.
Personally I still prefer it, but I grew up in modified production,
We never welded them we drilled and tapped them then Deck The Block.
As I recall some of the 400 blocks cracked at the steam hole this helped solve that problem.
Also the 400 2 bolt Main block is a little stronger in the main webs.
Use ARP studs on both the heads and the main caps.
Toy box 2 with the G... and the 66 Nova
But this is toy box three... lol
The Grabber orange car is a DD v6, the Red GT is Pro Charged...Fairly built, both are 08's
I loved the Retro S197 when it came out in 2005. I really don't like the new Camaro's looks. I liked the Challenger's, but I wanted...
LOL, the "handiwork" throughout the car is amazing! The wiring has been a nightmare to say the least.
But the body is a rust free southern car so worth salvaging.
He put in a new radiator but never hooked the trans cooler to it...WTH?
A few small steps on the 88 LS...
The previous owner bolted the trans mount to the cross member, but didn't bolt the mount to the transmission itself. That or used 3/8" bolts that were loose and fell out. Replaced them with the proper 10 MM in the 700R4 and added a poly mount while I was doing...
There is no such thing as enough "ooommmpph"
Having said that I've seen this farly frequently, your combo isn't right.
Start in back, dump those airplane gears, get an overdrive trans, but to be honest a 3.73 and a T350 isn't all that bad to drive.
That cams wrong for what you're trying to do...
The 8.5 is pretty stout, the bearings are the same size as a 12 bolt.
Basically it's a 12 bolt with ten ring gear bolts.
That's a slight overstatement but unless you intend a LOT of serious horsepower applied violently on a regular basis you'd be fine.
Given c clip eliminators of course
