    Olds 358 build

Got the TPS cobbled with the GM sensor and got it out of the garage under Holley EFI power for the first time! It needs more learning and tuning, I may try more timing at idle, stalled quite a few times when put into gear, currently at 30 degrees

    Olds 358 build

I got Mark Remmel advice and he said Holley's tune is rich and I inputed 325 CID instead of 358. It still wanted to be difficult to start and idled at 2000 rpm then finally smartened up idled around 850 rpm, my target was 770 rpm, close enough. Looking at the Speedmaster TPS, the dirty buggers...

    Olds 358 build

Had issues and it would start, pissed around with a whole but of settings and finally it ran. Still having issues with the TPS, may have to splurge for Speedmaster's TPS.

    Olds 358 build

I drained the oil again. It will get VR1 10W30 and a Wix 51258 oil filter.

    307 CHEVY HELP

Derek's builds like this is realistically what anyone will some skill can do. It is a sbc, so many options and sbc cores out there, especially since the LS craze. Give it a checkover, if everything is sound, new gaskets, timing chain and maybe a mild cam. Then add maybe Vortec heads, still...

My nearly new, 0 owner 2017 Dodge Challenger GT

I went with Rustoleum Florescent Green then Tremclad(Rustoleum) Clear. It is pretty close to Go Green. I sanded it and hit it with brake cleaner first. I removed over spay where it got past the tape with carb cleaner added decals and then Clear coated it. I have got the decorative Challenger...

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

Ok so the Speedmaster 1200 cfm throttle body showed up. I still need the TPS and adapter. It is a nice looking and operating throttle body. I did have to tap the map sensor port for a plug and had to tap the throttle cable stud to 1/4" fine for my stud. I adjusted the throttle cable and...

What battery maintainer is everyone using?

I'm pretty sure I have the Schumacher 1343 1.5 amp trickle charger on my Dakota. It was miserable in -40, probably because I drive the Challenger every chance I get and it sits. I replaced the block heater and cord, not sure it was working before or after, couldn't hear it. I put it in a...

    78 cutlass W-31 build

Either way a year left to pay on the Challenger and boat. Then another $1000 a month back in our pockets.

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

There are going to be multiple short oil changes. I have two six packs of VR1 10W30 on hand.

Also put in fresh VR1 10W30 and a Wix 51258 oil filter. The Wix Protec filter looks identical inside to the NAPA Gold 1258 filter inside. My new oil filter cutter worked way better. Some metal but less than the last oil change Those oil pressure numbers in the video are the fresh 10W30, still...

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

This isn't the Speedmaster, we don't get parts that fast up here. It is a no name Ebay special POS.

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

Well this throttle body is an absolute POS. It is the reason it idling over 1000 rpm. Even with 3 return springs plus shafts don't seal tight. Plus it hits and jams on the air cleaner.

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

Well, the timing was off, over advanced. Then I went too far retarded. In between just right, imagine that. Timing at 30 degrees checked with the light at idle, forgot to check rpm. I removed the IAC and taped it off, it idled down. It is pulling so much vacuum, I actually had to use hard...

    Swapped: Buick 231 V6 >Buick 350

Those are nice looking down pipes, what diameter? I am also for any different motor swaps in cars. Haven't had much to do with the small bore Buick and Pontiac 350's. I have only driven one Buick 350 car, a Lesabre from 1980, the last year offered. I remember my old boss saying they were shitty...

Their Olds heads are very good castings. The valves and hardware, not so good. I will probably grab a bare pair next Black Friday.

1970 Olds Cutlass S Rat Rod Style

Well, I think I found the high rpm issue is the TPS. My current POS TB has the TPS on the passenger side. The new Speedmaster TB also has it on the passenger side. Looking up the TPS and IAC, it requires a 87 Ford TPS. It turns the opposite way as the LS style TPS I am using. They also claim the...

    BUILD THREAD “The Juggernaut”

I vote for the Challenger style. Our last Challenger didn't have one, the GT does, it is subtle but finishes off the car, just right.
