Whoops. missed this
Got one, plan to use the original "base" painted panel, but the one in the coupe fell apart when I tried pressing it in, so I may be in the market for the side panel down the line if it suffers the same fate.
Thanks for posting
Interesting....not my cup o' tea, but looks like the regal guys want it.
I am a little put off by marketing something and not having the tech support to know the nuances of your intended market. They are lost on 78-81.
My 2 cents on upper/lower codes. I think the primary code is 22U and 22L so that the paint line paints the whole thing Light blue, as opposed to the typical 2-tone with the upper one color and the lower a second color.
BUT these are really 3 tone, so that's where the second line of paint codes...
I have access to Alldata, I find it's value on older stuff to be pretty limited. And brand-new as well. I feel like it;s good for vehicles that are a couple years old back to the late 80s.
Almost nothing for my 81s
Perhaps Mitchell is better?
Hard to beat the OE books, though, for...
The original post was written at lunch on a damn iphone (which I hate) so typing and editing are not the easiest/best.
Typically, when the system goes to defrost upon acceleration, there is a vacuum leak in the system. I would reference the attached diagrams and start at the connection from the...
Here are the pertinent pages from the 88 shop manual, which is pretty much the same system as all G bodies OTHER THAN the automatic A/C system found in higher option carlines (I think Buick and Olds...never seen one in real life)
Forget the Haynes and Chilton manuals. You want the GM factory shop manual. It will include MUCH MUCH more useful information about pretty much every subsystem on the car. This is the GM manual for 1988 Monte Carlo/Full size.
A Chilton or haynes manual is less than half as thick, and covers...
OE shop manual which is available either used on eBay or digitally all over the place is an excellent source for these issues. Usually includes a troubleshooting flow chart. But briefly yes your vacuum reservoir does not hold enough vacuum therefore when vacuum falls as the throttle plates are...
I would guess that’s because the tack weld are known quality/quantity whereas any schmo with a welder can fire up and try to weld up a tank with unknown heat ,amperage ,voltage ,and duration.
If you’re not up for trying to remove it and reinstall it you could buy some 3M fine line tape to cover up the lens slots.
Although it is a shame to paint that hard to find Burlwood bezel which appears to be in really nice condition
Naaaaaawwwwwwws!
Might make 400, once. for a brief moment
307s were always a dud
Listen to these guys, many better choices for the money it will take to build a 307
Owning a 307 is like owning a 267....nothing of value to be had from one.
Ordered some new tires for the coupe...I was casually price shopping online to get an idea of what to expect, and found these Coopers for $106 ea as closeouts. That was last night. Was going to call my local guy to see what he could do and found they were now $84 each with a $50 rebate on a set...
Wife and I recently drove 2.5 hours to look t a truck that turned out to have been listed with pics from probably 5 years previously when HE bought it. As we rolled into the agreed-upon meeting spot, first thing i saw was a roof visor screwed on (NOT in the pics). First thing I said to the guy...
If they didn't come with the stiffener plates, best to make some for the inside, as bolting mirrors to just the skin will result in cracking/failure in a short period.
The originals often had some sort of sound deadener/insulateo between the skin and stiffener, and that will hold moisture...
