    My n00b story!

Dang, sounds like ya probably had to go home and change your underwear. Yeah, mine really doesn't whip neither it needs shocks desperately. Pretty soon Im gonna have to tighten my steering column up, before it comes loose in my hands. Anyway, I better quit ragging on my car, I paid $400 for it...

    My n00b story!

Well I can understand not wanting to fool with a rusty frame. I guess I have a little of an advantage, I live in Georgia and the cars over here have to sit forever to rust through a frame. A rusty floor pan or fender is about the most I have had to deal ('cept for a 76 comet w/ a holey roof). I...

    door panel question

Will the door panels off of 4 drs work on 2 drs or are the doors shorter. I have a friend that has the lower door panels off of a 1980 Malibu 4 dr that I hope will work on my 79 Cutlass 2 dr.

Thanks for the Welcomes, other forums I've been too are full of folks who rag on other peoples car and get into arguments, so far I haven't see none of that crap here.

    Opera window, rust repair.

Does the trim have clips that hold it on, I haven't really tried to pull or pry on them because I was afraid I was going to bend them (They're in good shape). I guess Ill just have to do some more investigation.

    My n00b story!

Your cutlass sounds almost identical to mine. Mine is a 79 Cutlass Supreme, Dark Cherry Metallic (burgundy to anybody you ask) no vinyl top though. Mine needs a new pass. floor pan (heater core). The interior is burgundy (pink in some areas due to the sun). Bought from and old man for $400 with...

    My wagons

Oh yeah with the GEN3 sleeper wagon, Im thinking about putting an LQ4 in my cutlass. Both cars are sweet!!! I bet you didn't even break the bank when you bought them, Good 2dr malibus are getting harder and harder to find and people want so much for them. Thats why I bought a cutlass for $400...

    Opera window, rust repair.

Oh yeah, what I was originally asking is taking out the window the only way to get the trim off, I got a little bit of topic.

Thanks, I've been looking at the forum for a long time and just have never joined. I appreciated about front clip. The old man I bought the car from took pretty good care of it, but he miss judged his stopping distance or something, the car kinda looks buck toothed now. Also, will the a-pillar...

    Opera window, rust repair.

I took of the interior panel to see if there was some screws or welds or something holding it together. I think the window sits on top of the crome trim and yes there is a bunch of black crap that I'm probably going to have to cut through. These must be problem areas, becuase I see a lot of them...

    New to G/A-Bodies

Sounds like you have a project on your hands. I don't know about g-bodies and rust, but I had a '76 Mercury Comet that had a god-awful vinyl top on it and it had holes on both sides right above the drip rails and in the A-pillar. I had to sell it, I am not a body man, mechanical ok, but not...

    Noob form the Mid West

Cool car, I had a white '89 formula 350, but I rode like a go-cart so I sold it, fun to drive though. Yours looks way better than mine did.

    Opera window, rust repair.

I bought a very solid '79 cutlass that I am trying to fix up. It does not have a vinyl top(thank goodness), but it does have some rust starting to appear right under the quarter/opera window trim and I have yet to figure out how to take the trim off. I am under the impression that you have to...

    One more new guy

Hey to everybody. Im new to the whole G-body scene, but have always liked them. I found a '79 Cutlass Supreme for cheap and in pretty good shape, so I bought and am now in the process of hunting down parts for it. If anyone knows of a good place where I can get the fiberglass front clip, feel...
