    Deleting Wires dash side

The computer is in the side kick panel on the passenger side. It's behind the panel with the little curtousy (spelling) light. And I just traced all the wires back to the fuse box. Some of them were spliced in with other wires, I just fixed the splice without that wire, and kept a truckin...

No, ya gotta leave them on, but I thought I read somewhere that alluminum bumper braces could be had. Already scoped out trying to pull off some of that thick heavy steel up there in the nose. lol. Just to save a few pounds. Gonna run no hood? A lift off hood almost doesn't weight anything...

Oh, that motor will be plenty healthy for a fun street car. I'm sure 4.10's would be fine. And I'm am too a fan of keeping the car semi stock appearing, but being as light as possible. I'm learing where weight can be shed on the g-body's too. (been a 4th gen f-body guy too long) Is it a 3...

can i put 22s on my 86 cutlass with out lifting it?

Yea, on my WS6 the 17's (26" overall height) ride pretty stiff. I've rode in several (owned one) with 18's (26's still) and they were noticeably harsher. Can't imagine going bigger. Now my brothers ram had factory 20's on it, but they were like 31" tall, so it rode ok. Sorry OP for the...

    Deleting Wires dash side

Exactly what I just did last night. Did take alittle, but not having to repull any new wires is worth taking your time over. lol. I kept nothing but headlights/starter/wipers/instrument cluster lights. Chris

Yea, really depends on what you're willing to remove too. I'm sure a 3K# race weight is achievable, just depends on what you want. A gutted S-10 will definatly be lighter than a gutted g-body, but the suspension on a g-body would be more efficient than stock suspended s-10. How much motor do...

can i put 22s on my 86 cutlass with out lifting it?

Haha, I dunno. They can't hold much air fully inflated anyways. lol. Might as well just be solid rubber. Chris

Stock swaybars & posi on my 83 cutlass

Yea I guess since most G-body's weren't really "performance" oriented, they didn't need one. But try to hook a rwd car without one and you'll be sad. lol. But for just a cushiony ride, no need I guess. Chris

Stock swaybars & posi on my 83 cutlass

I was reading this thread thinking there was no way that a 4link type rear susp. wouldn't have a sway bar... Then I looked under my car... wtf? This is a one owner (old lady) car that the motor got hot and locked up in, no way it's been tampered with. Anyways, here's a pic from under my turd. I...

    Dash removal...

Cool, it all came off just like ya said. Just broke one stand off the radio/hvac controls bezel. Other than that it went good. Dont' think they were counting on anybody having to do that, those damn metal clips are TIGHT! lol. Had to take a pair of pliers to the back of em and smash them...

    Dash removal...

Haha thanks! Yea, pulling the dash is never a fun thing, but if I don't do it now while it's not running, I'll never do it once it is. lol. Plus if you pull it out, you'll find things to delete to make it easier to put back. haha. Already deleted the HVAC controls and it does have a radio...

    Dieting A Malibu

Good lord, that's what I like to hear!! Lol. In the process of skinnying up my cutlass. Would like to keep the stock "pillow top" seats just for the funny factor for alittle while. My goal weight is 3K, hopefully I can hit that without the car looking gutted. But that's a serious little car...

    Dash removal...

Ok, I know it seems like a dumb question, but I'm new to the G-body crowd. lol. Ok now that my excuse is out of the way, how does the dash come out (84 Cutlass) didn't know if there was a certain hidden screw, or a trick to it. I know the plastic is brittle and I don't wanna break anything. I...

So how much have you guys been paying for parts cars?

I bought my '84 Cutlass with a locked up v6 for $300. The body is straight, interior is perfect, and 0 rust. It was on a trailer headed to the scrap yard, and I felt sorry for it so I bought the daing thing. lol. Chris

    ls1 5.7 or 6.0 in my 86 cutty

Oh yea, go with the LQ9. When the LS1 in my '00 Z let go I bought an iron block 8K mile LQ9 out of a '04 Excalade and stuck in a TSP MS3 cam. With a Yank PT4400 lockup converter, built 4L60E, 12 bolt spooled 4.30's, and 28's it ran consistent 10.90's and got 21+ mpg on the hwy.... God I...

    Priming

I'm not real sure, but it may have something to do with where the internals are at. You may rotate the motor alittle to move the cam/lifters around and see if anything changes. Just a guess. Anybody know for sure? Chris
