U mentioned when u changed the advance to manifold vac the rpm went up 100 rpm... I would be checking the advance plate.... It should increse the rpm alot more than 100.. I seen the advance plates siezed....S omething isnt right there....

Its a vacuum secondary carb. The only throttle blades that are gonna be fully open are the primary throttle plates. The secondary's will slightly open when the pedal is on the rug with key off engine off.
AC Delco. They recommend packing it with grease because the spring doesn't get adequate oil for lubrication. Moisture build up in the pump and causes premature pump failure. It usually takes out the spring.
